I'm actually quite excited to see how he fares; he's had some reasonable write-ups for his international performances so he could turn out to be a smart little buy.
Spot on. Have a gut feeling he could turn out to be a proper gem. Fingers crossed.

Please dont use that term to refer to a talented French youngster, it brings back painful memories

I hear you, but Flo is still a little gem in my book.

Especially as they were cousins too!
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Fingers crossed!! As I said though, i'm only basing this on 1 single game ... even Voronin looked quality in 1 game for us.

Especially, given how much we rotate, he's sure to get games.

As i said elsewhere, the worst that can happen is that he isn't up to standard and we will probably sell him on for profit anyway as he is only 19 and has potential

In the meantime, Benitez has signed the 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker David Ngog for a fee that could rise to £4m depending on what he achieves at the club. Ngog came to the attention of English clubs when he scored twice against the England Under-19s last season. He scored once in 18 appearances for the French side but has a much better record at international level.

                      Forwards.......

How many "young prospects" has Rafa bought that have made any impact on the first team at all? We must have pissed enough cash away to have bought one or 2 world class players that WOULD have made a difference. Disappointing.

A more pertinent question might be how many of these kids have we lost money on or will lose money on when we sell them?

Not many I'd say and I think we'll see a profit overall on the young players we have when they are sold or move up to the first team.

Erm, perhaps we need Doctor Who or someone to transform these teenagers we bought last summer into fully-fledged 1st teamers, cos "youth" takes time to develop & Rafa has only been buying in these youngsters in bulk since a year ago. Not even he can exercise power over time itself.

It's disappointing that he can't though.
