No-one is claiming that he did not stay behind, you are claiming that Rafa now has a vendetta as a result of that. That is what I am questioning.

And lay off the insults mate or it WILL get ugly.

Yeah OK. How insulting that was eh?

Of course Rafa has a vendetta, and it will come out when the lad leaves.

I have heard of plenty of fans who have missed it for a match, once again something I wouldnt agree with but it has only been recent that men went into the maternity ward.
Was it not Rafa who didnt take any time of after his father died while in Japan, thats what I meant by him expecting the same level of commitment as he gives himself. He is Liverpool through and through if you ask me and knows what it means to the fans to win.

From .no who got it from Echo:

Gillette is pissed at Rafa again, this time over the Barry saga. The owners used Parry as the scapegoat (this seems pretty much tobe Parrys job these days)
But there are some interesting points about Xabi.
He had an argument with Rafa before the Liege game, and now wants to be sold. the problem is that no clubs are interested. There is also a clause in the deal with Sociedad that says that they are entitled to 6M Euros if Xabi is sold for less than 16M Euros. If he`s sold for more than 16M Euros LFC only have to pay 20%. This means that LFC will lose a lot of money if they sell for less than 16M Euros. This deals sounds very strange to me, but ....

Gillett wants to sack Rafa according to a journo mate of mine (and Hicks does too but he is more scared of the fans).

I would doubt that, Rafa seems to be the only man who brings Hicks any credit at all and is completely against Gillett. Unless the stories of Hicks Gillett fighting is a lie then I really cant see this being true, specially since Rafa came out recently on Hicks side.

Do you mean since the Barry thing? As if they wanted to prior then they wouldn't have given him £20m to spend on Keane.

****s sake people, Rashid has zero contacts and zero credibility, all his "info" is garnered from other sites and rehashed into his own opinions, which are unsurprisingly anti-Rafa. And yet you continue to try and debate with him, only to be countered with "a journo friend of mine" "this comes from a player"...tis all bollocks.

They have always wanted him sacked but realised after the Bascombe article last winter that Rafa has the fans onside. Hicks then used Rafa to get more popularity and Rafa is now using him for money. If the fans were not so behind Rafa then he would be gone. This latest stuff has bought Hicks and Gillett together even more.

                      Even so, it's not necessary.

Well wasn't there a story, not more than a month ago probably, of a either a cricketer or a rugby player missing the birth of his child to play a game because he didn't want to let his team-mates down? I don't think this is as black and white as all of you paint it.

It is individual choice and no manager should be able to decide or make a vendetta because of it - for one it's illegal!

Vendetta is a strong word, but I do agree with you in that I think Rafa was pissed off at that incident, and that there appears to be something personal between them. This could be the cause of it, or just one of the causes, but I do think it has played a part in their relationship breaking down. IMO

So where exactly have you heard about this vendetta Rafa has against Xabi then?

"This isn't a rumour, it's from one of the players and it will come out when Xabi leaves"

Because no doubt you've heard this second hand on an internet forum.

It is one of many incidents, I have heard from a player that the other incidents were true and when Rafa leaves they will all come out
