If you ask me Rafa expects the same kind of commitment from his players that he shows himself. I wouldnt have been to happy if my boss told me I had to travel while my wife was giving birth, but then I dont earn a fortune a week.
You might not agree with Rafa demanding this but if we had of went out then there would have been so many disappointed fans world wide and the club would have lost money. Some really nice perks playing at a top club but also some sacrifices you need to make for it.

Earning millions doesn't mean we are happy to miss the birth of our children, LFC fans these have lost the plot. Money can't buy things like that and managers are a disgrace demanding it.

Agree with you there. I for one wouldn't expect a Liverpool player to do so whatever the game. I'm sure others disagree but family is more important than anything in my world.

Agree totally. Football isn't life or death. Family comes first and whoever says opposite needs their head testing

ok amigo, if your boss told u to get to a meeting at the risk of missing the birth of your first child what would you say?

This isn't a rumour, it's from one of the players and it will come out when Xabi leaves. Also all the papers are reporting that even if Rafa sells players and raised the funds for Barry, he won't be allowed to buy him for £18m as the "overpriced" element still stands. I agree.

Well I don't know. I'd rather go and be there with my wife that's for sure but I've learnt that I can't always do what I want in life.

I'd certainly be disappointed but as I said, it's all about how an individual sees it. If the job / meeting requires to be done, and nothing else could be arranged, I just don't know what I'd do.

The other rumour from not so long ago was that DIC was buying LFC ... It was apparently a question of hours ... ding dong

When a woman in is labour the only thing she wants (apparently) is her husband. The father of her child. She is suffering horribly for something they both created and he, if he were to miss the birth, would lose out on valuable bonding moments once his baby is first born.

You can't get back those first few seconds of life.

I don't actually believe it's true but, if Rafa DID kick off about this then he is a disgrace.

Would he have missed the birth of his own two children for football?

Some things are simply more important...birth and death being one of them. I know if my husband told me he was not going to be with me when I gave birth and left me in a foreign country in order to do so (she apparently gave birth in Liverpool) I would never, ever forgive him.

Latest Rumour also from a player: Some players pissed off at the treatment of Xabi.
It as likely to be false as true though those stories right.

I like the way you post unsubstantiated rumours and then use that as a reason to lynch Rafa. Classy, real classy like.

I told people about DIC when they didn't have a clue at what was going on. Just because it didn't happen it doesn't mean that DIC didn't intend to buy us. Grow up.

The birth of the child was very public and it was in all the broadsheets, Rafa even said after the game that "Xabi chose to stay with his wife" and that he didn't want to discuss. Do you have the memory of a fish?

Make up your mind, in your original post you said it could be a rumour. Now it's not! What changed in the last couple of minutes?
