I also love that we're challenging but i'd obviously rather we go on to win it, as opposed to just challenging and then falling away. If we'd won those games, i think we'd have gone on to win it. Now i dont think we will.

Anyway, the point is simply that you asked who actually believed we'd be running away with it and the fact is, if we'd done what we should've and what everyone believed we would do, we WOULD be running away with it now.
what i try to say is, had things gone as expected we wouldn't be better off as our rivals would have allocated more points as well - in another way, had they done what they should have done and all that.

we have dropped silly points no doubt. but we've also beaten teams where we usually draw or lose.

anyway, it doesn't matter where we are in january...
what we need is putting a run of wins together and things will look much better for everyone.

Craig you are normally sensible but that is just Bollocks mate. Of course we should have beaten those teams, but if we go by that we should win every game bar maybe six, and the Mancs should win every one. This is simply not realsitic. It is quite easy now to go through the rest of the seasons games and tick of each game as "Must win" and "likely draw/defeat" but for every result you pull of a in at the death, there will be ones where you blow the lead or fail to break down teams.

And how you could expect us to win the four games mentioned, when LFC have been anything but playing well is beyond me. The team that wins the title will be the team that hits top form and manages to go on a long winning streak. No team has yet done this. At least one team does every year.
      Forwards.......

Exactly. I would say it's like Fernando Torres said - we need to still be in touching distance by the time we travel to Old Trafford. We need people to be talking of that game as a potential title decider - not a must win game to claw back a big lead, as is usually the case.

I know it's not realistic mate, and i expect there to be the odd game where it doesnt work out as it should. But 4 times out of about 18? That's far too often. We've dropped 8 stupid home points by the halfway point, and it seems more like a pattern than the odd mistake. That's the problem. It's not the fact that we drop silly points, because everyone does that. It's the fact that we're doing it with a touch of regularity and that will kill our title challenge.

You mention about us not winning those games because we're not playing well - well that's kinda the gripe isnt it? That we're not playing well.

              Really Craig?

Look back at our last few games. Yes we did not play well against Stoke but what about when we thrashed Newcastle 5-1? Or when we thumped Bolton 3-0? Or the 2-0 win at Preston? Or the draw we got at the Emirates?

I would say we have played pretty well lately with the exception of the Stoke game

I was referring to the previous post, when the lad said we werent playing well and in doing so, was specifically referring to the period of time (i assumed) during which we dropped those 8 home points.

Well i dont think we've done too bad at all, ok we've dropped points in two games v Stoke, could have done better against the Hammers, yes, but we've taken max from the Scum, Chavs & Bitters so far, we won't be taking max points every game whatever people think, and tbf if i had to choose between those 3 games to win versus a couple of draws with Stoke i'd have taken that before the season, taking points directly from our rivals is better imo.

It's going to be very hard to win it looking at the scum squad, he has what...4 or 5 or more players in the 30mill bracket in his first 11, something like, so if we do it, then it will most definitely be done in the face of adversity. ( ie. odds against us ). But it can be done no doubt.

Rio, Berbatov, Rooney - which other players does he have which cost him £30m?

I dont think he has four or five more, does he?

Depends on if you mean that he paid £30M for them, or that is what they`re worth today.
Vidic and Ronaldo are worth more than £30M IMO.
How many players do we have that could be sold for £30M?
                              Gerrard and Torres.
Xabi and Mascher in the £20M+ category. Maybe Agger if he signs a new contract.
