Wow... for some one with 1 post (that being the first), who joined 4 months ago - that's a really confident post...

He didn't have his best game tonight, but the lad never gave up and came through in the end. I'd like to think that goal will be the start of something for him this season.

Its a horrible cliche, but he also just paid back his entire transfer fee with that one strike

Flyboy, you must be a WUM, describing Anfield as a Brothel

And I think the answer to your last sentence is about £15 million :bird:

Hopefully the Kuyt knockers will give it a rest after last night. (if it wasnt for him in the CL last season we would have gone out much earlier)

He paid his off his transfer fee in the dyings minutes of the game.

He has saved us a season long session of embarrassment from the rags and other supporters.

He might not be the most gifted player in the world, but what he lacks in skill he more than makes up in workrate. His stamina is unquestionable, at that stage of the game he was still full of running unlike the rest of the team.

Like it or not he gets picked for the team because he trains hard, plays hard for the team and has the right mentality. These are 3 of the main ethics that Rafa wants in players.

Dirk Kuyt thankyou for saving us from a season of ridicule

                Indeed

I've been one of Dirk's biggest supporters on here in the last few days/weeks/months, but I'll gladly admit he didn't have his best of games last night. However he kept plugging away and in the end got deserved reward for the effort he put in.

Now where'd I put that quote from someone the other day about him not being worth £60k let alone £10m?

He regularly one our best players on the pitch, at half time into extra time it was him Gee ing his team mates and the crowd, he rarely gives up possession his delivery into the box keeps getting better and better and he scores very important goals consistently ... I love Kuyt defo a Carra type player I got that immediately ... would run through a brick wall for the team

I think he looked much better when he went to support Torres centrally... he isn't quick, he doesn't have skill, he can't beat a man, and he certainly can't hug the touchline - he shouldn't play wide either in a 442 or a 4321 or a 433 - he just isn't good enough there. The likes of him, Gerrard and the rest who play wide do so because we have failed to buy a decent wide player after £50m spent.

I have been harsh on Kuyt and pretty unfair at times but he simply isn't good enough in the position Rafa plays him in. IMO

Fair enough I can see you point, but i dont sweat it when I see his name on the team sheet in that position, usually I think .. well yiou will not be attacking down the right flank . to the other team.. when he plays on the right we look iron cast down that side

Kuyt is a striker and that's where he should play if he gets into the line up. As a right winger in a 4-4-2, he's atrocious and a goal won't change that.

Thank goodness for his goal, but it doesn't alter the fact it was another horrible, horrible performance. Again he wasn't the only one but I do not want to see him playing RM in a 4-4-2 ever again.

He certainly looked better when moved centrally. As you say Shaggy I don't think he should play right in a 4-4-2. He did a good job on the right as part of the 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 formation though.
I was getting very frustrated with him last night though. Kept saying, "get him off and bring N'gog on!". Shows what I know
