I get what you're saying, but believe me, any accusation that somehow we want "hell breaking loose" on here to "keep the site ticking over" is completely incorrect. If I could, I'd gladly show you the page after page of mod-hair tearing out (well, apart from Reece who has no hair to tear obviously) in the mod-forum over some of the nonsense that's gone on here over time, none of us like it and most certainly none of us want it. But its not as easy to deal with as you might think, there seems to be an attitude that somehow we could just have snapped our fingers and everything would have been fine... I wish it were as easy as that really, but its not. No matter what we do, and we've done plenty, we just get **** about it from all sides and people on all sides carry on regardless of what we ask, cajole, direct or insist upon. To be frank, it really pisses me off; we put a hell of a lot into trying to keep this place afloat, both in terms of time, and money, and all that ever happens is it gets thrown back in our faces time after time after time like somehow we're responsible for the lack of positive contributions made by members who would rather bitch at each other than discuss things like adults. We spend ages pruning threads, banning wums, pm'ing people trying to sort problems out, and all sorts of other stuff, but because we don't shout about it and try to be as inclusive and fair as possible, we just get told that we do nothing. If we really did nothing then you'd see what a state this place would become, shortly before it ceased to exist that is.

I do understand where you are coming from, but I actually like posters like DJS and Hamshanks and even Carheex...controversial posters, especially when it comes to the off-season or internation weeks, cos the site does slow down (and makes my day at work extremely boring) but they never wind me up...although i can see how they might not be everyones cup of tea.

My original comment about Hamshanks was a tongue in cheek dig at his postings, not a dig at you and the site...maybe i should have stuck a at the end to make the post seem more light-hearted in retrospect. Hindsight eh!?

lol, sorry dude if I seemed a bit harsh above but its a touchy subject; a lot of the time we are damned if we do and damned if we don't, people don't see a lot of what goes on here behind the scenes and for some strange reason I, and the mods, present and past, do genuinely care about this place and have put a lot of effort into it over the 2 and a bit years it has been going. We don't want, or expect, praise for that, but its difficult to accept all the blame every time someone acts the goat or things get a bit tetchy, especially when it doesn't always seem that we get a great deal of constructive help putting things right.

Yeah. I only ever like players that get stuck in regardless or give 80 trillion percent. Never really phased by strikers, they come and go. Players like Dirky and Mascher are once every decade.
