Can't speak highly enough of them. Last 5 minutes we were put under heavy pressure, but apart from that we dominated. We did struggle at times against a very big, powerful team, but we will not meet teams like that every week.

Would we have won this game last year? Maybe not. Would we have won this game last year without 4-5 first teamers? No. Shows the strength in depth in the squad.

And personally I thought it looked like a matter of time before we scored. Poor old Sami denied a goal by Diop punching it off his head, but I was more than happy for Stevie to step up and score.

Can't believe how much he has improved at penaltys, I always expect him to score now!
ha ha ha. Too true. I thought the same at the time.

      No worries fella
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

        Glad we got the result.

Im a bit nervous about Tottenham now though. That result would have given them a major confidence lift.
Difference is we are not arsenal and are not **** like that! We will have all our big guns back at the weekend and Robbie will get one at the lane. We will win at the weekend and stay clear at the top.

Again tonight we had a lot of first team members out tonight but still won so i am not to bothered about that. We have won 2 very hard games this week so far and can do it again at the weekend.

Charlie Nicholas had a real strop. Idiot. Was just slouched in his chair and very non-plussed. Basically said we're average

Yup I would have prefered to see Babel up front on his own with Kuyt taking his place. Still in the driving seat with one of our top 4 rivals Hull dropping points.

Well every game is tough so whether Tottenham won drew or lost, it's going to be difficult.

The real plus is Torres return + their leaky defense. Should make for a fascinating match!

We should bring back Agger and Mascher which should sort out Modric etc

The man is near 50 or over it and still wearing an ear ring, who could take him serious?

He always works better alongside another front man. I was a bit disappointed we didn't see himself and Babel upfront together for a while. I wouldn't be too worried at all though. We'll have the big guns back for the weekend to shoot down Spurs.
I'm happy to get the 3points. Babel should get a run up front alright. Playing on the wing he does not have the space and he seems to lose confidence. I think tonight shows we need to strenghten again in January.

A replacement for Pennant will do me. He is unreliable
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

He is such a clown He said we didnt deserve the win and that we didnt play well at all

Yet he failed to mention that we had 5 players missing, yet completely dominated possesion and that Pompey sat deep parked the bus and tried to do a stoke on us and Pompey only had 1 shot at our goal!!

I love watching the misery on Nicholas and Mersons face

I agree with woobus, I'd give El Zhar a chance before I went out and got someone else.

Preferred it when Pennant was out in the cold

I guess I'm lucky that the streams I get don't have those kind of ******s commentating because it sounds like a mare. Sort of like having Rashid and Rage as co-commentators.

I coulden't see the game tonight, but I am happy we got a win, even if it was a penalty win.

It is always hard to go from the major wins to the smaller games, and it was great to get the necessary result.

Doesen't sound like I missed a whole lot tonight, judging on the comments on here, is that about right?
