I dare you! Shaggy'll go spastic.

As for Ngog I agree with Dom. Still early days but he's not ready for the Prem, let alone the Champions League. He should be leading the line in the reserves and then be in contention for cup games.

If we're going to keep hauling our strikers off with half an hour left then we need a striker with a bit more know-how on the bench.

Heskey could actually be perfect if he didn't mind never starting a game.

Of course he isn't ready mate it's no surprise but why create a thread for that. Pretty pointless imo.

          No obituary Fredo.

I am saying that he shouldn't have been played as he is plainly not ready yet. I'm certanly not writing him off.

To put him on when we were chasing a point in the Champions League was bad decision by Rafa imo, and was not fair on the player. He was clearly out of his depth.
          Oh I don't know.

Oh and while I'm on about it I'm not sure about his attitude.

The effort where he made the chance for himself and couldn't help but have a dig, there was no hint of apology to Kuyt or even a hand in the air of recognition that he made the wrong choice.

Only a little thing but when he came on against Villa you'd have thought a young kid being handed his chance would be busting a gut to chase down every ball and get involved but for the hour that he was on the pitch he was incredibly lazy.

Add to that an abysmal performance against Crewe and some 'I'm the man' chest slapping against Rangers in the pre-season friendly so for me he's got a lot to prove.

I'll probably get slated for this now.

Thought it was a perfectly valid thread to be honest

It's the norm to analyse the progress and performance of any of our players and I'm sure particular interest is paid to new signings or youngsters.

Yeah but it was rather obvious that the guy isn't ready. But he did contribute to a quality moment when he nutmegged his marker in the penalty area towards the end. He showed some quality then!

He is worth a place on the bench alongside El Zhar and hopefully will get a few run outs.

As for striker options, I want to see more of Babel if Keane is struggling. Lets start with Babel and bring Keane on for a few games.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

ngog would do well loaned out to a local club where he'd get games. regardless of whether he's good enough he won't get much playing time for at least the next 2 seasons.

in any case far too early to judge him.

The lack of touch and composure you can put down to nerves, but he so far hasn't competed in any of the games he's played.

Easily knocked off the ball, and can not (will not) compete in the air.

I think he needs a good run in the reserves to toughen him up a bit, and improve confidence.

No wonder Keane was a bit miffed. I was too.

Anyone judging him on that cameo performance has to have a pretty high regard for their scouting talents. It was a roll of the dice by Rafa - introducing a player the opposition would not know the style of and he did okay. One nice bit of skill, his movement was decent but he certainly didn't put in a Kuyt like shift (if he had he would have been criticised for being another hard working goal shy striker though). He hasn't overly impressed but as rage says it is far too early to judge.
