Hopefully. Because Pennant is never going to be a regular, i know all squads need quality throughout, and players sort of prepared to sit on the bench or be part of the squad, but Pennant i believe has had his time, now it's someone else's turn imo.

What have you seen in him that makes you think he'll set the Premiership on fire? especially given the fact he's not set the championship on fire?Originally posted by rage View Postmy opinion is based upon actually seeing both play in real time. of course you'll both come to my way of thinking if hammill gets 5 consecutive games. trust me on this one, if the lad plays in the premiership he'll set it on fire. At least as good as some of the kids slur alex has tried to bring through with varying degrees of success.
i'm not arguing for one over the other but i really think hammill is capable of making the step up successfully. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

he'd rise to the occasion. he played exceptionally well when on loan b4. it'll be his chance to prove himself and cement a role in the team.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostWhat have you seen in him that makes you think he'll set the Premiership on fire? especially given the fact he's not set the championship on fire?
after all the same that you're saying about this lad can be said about many of our 1st team now.

I'd like to see him back as a genuine wide option. Not sure if he could make it but as Rafa has no faith in Pennant there is no obvious wide alternative to put on from the bench - both Benayoun and Babel narrow the play in general and so does El Zhar to a degree (although he shows more willingness to run with the ball in wide areas as far as I have seen)."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

While I agree that many people aren't settling the Premiership on fire at the moment, I would hope that they would have the level of quality to set the championship on fire if they were playing there at the moment given that the level is lower. Hammill isn't doing that at the moment, at the moment it seems he's a decent Championship player on current form, and was a decent SPL player when on loan there, but I can't think of too many players that have been at that level and set the Premeriship on fire, as you are suggesting.Originally posted by rage View Posthe'd rise to the occasion. he played exceptionally well when on loan b4. it'll be his chance to prove himself and cement a role in the team.

He may do a decent job for us and turn out to be a good player but I think it will take alot more time than you are suggestingThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He was a lot more than decent in Scotland one of the best players outside Celtic and Rangers. Great achievement for a player at that age and showed he could handle the rough and tumble. Think if you asked most Dunfermline fans they would mostly agree apart from the cup final Hamill was the best part of their season and the biggest reason they reached the cup final.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Postand was a decent SPL player when on loan there, but I can't think of too many players that have been at that level and set the Premeriship on fire, as you are suggesting.
I dont agree with Rage to often but think he would be a good squad player and a great option for the right hand side.
Have had big hopes for this lad and when he is given a chance will prove his worth.

i think he's bored being loaned out here there and everywhere. bring him home, the boy will shineOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostWhile I agree that many people aren't settling the Premiership on fire at the moment, I would hope that they would have the level of quality to set the championship on fire if they were playing there at the moment given that the level is lower. Heard impressive things about him in the reseves and when loaned out in Scotland but ive only ever seen one wonder youtube goal from him. Least the kid has been playing pretty regularly at SPL and championship level for the past three seasons and is getting some experience.
Even Gerrard didnt make his first team debut until he was 18 and took him to 19,20 to cement first team place. At 20 the kid's still young and deserves a chance....hopefully he'll take it.'Religion is killing each other over who has the best imaginary friend'

That's a staggeringly silly thing for even you to say Rage, nothing like having a bit of a point (ie. maybe Hammill could be an interesting option for us) and then blowing it up out of all propoprtion with ridiculous hyperbole that spoils your whole argument. Seriously though, he's a talented lad but he really hasn't done a great deal at all out on loan the last 3 seasons (barring a few good weeks in the SPL) and is very possibly far too lightweight for the premiership. Maybe not, but if the lad was brought in and flopped you'd be one of the first using it as a nail on Rafa's coffin I reckon.Originally posted by rage View Posthammil is better than riera and will prove it it rafa gives him 5 games in a row.
he's sure as hell better than yossi and kuyt on either wing.
bringing hammil back just shows how rafa's summer spend has been disastrous imo. maybe we can loan doseena and keane to blackpool, about their level
If you did a bit less of the exaggeration (and at times a lot less) far more people on here might actually find themselves agreeing with you, rather than finding themselves writing rebukes in disbelief at your latest outrageously overblown remarks.
My thoughts exactlyOriginally posted by The Birdman View PostHammill is better than a Spanish International!!!
There are some funny things on here but that is just brilliant.
Hammill may turn out to be better than Riera in time and he will obviously need a fair chance to prove this but to say he is better now is frankly ****ing mental.
