but i've seen both play and i think hammill is the better player, more suited to the premiership, far more direct, and has a better end product. my opinion is not therefore groundless.Originally posted by Reggie View PostThat's not the point though is it rage? Your argument that Hammill is better than Riera is completely groundless. No one is saying he won't impress if given the chance, and he may well shine. But to claim it as fact that he is better than Reira is what people are taking issue with you for.
i've seen enough of riera to know that he flatters to deceive. he is talented but clearly doesn't do enough in most games. from what i've seen of hammill he will offer more.
most discussions on here are based upon opinion rather than fact - it is my opinion that hammill is the better player.

Comparing Hammill who's been playing in a lower league to Riera who's been slogging it out with the best week in week out is just plain stupid rage, even by your standards.Originally posted by rage View Postbut i've seen both play and i think hammill is the better player, more suited to the premiership, far more direct, and has a better end product. my opinion is not therefore groundless.

It does seem that you take whichever stick there is available to beat Rafa and his decision making. You are not the only one in here doing that but you are at the apex of the list of those select few.
Whatever you've said this season has been rebuked by what the team has achieved to date, be it in the league and the champions league.
It's time for you to take a much needed break from these forums dude and come out recharged next season, hopefully with a more positive mindset.

And even then I'm not sure you're right.
Out of interest Rage, how do you rate Paul Anderson?I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.

What's been rebuked? Just because we're still in the title race at the beginning of December? Isn't this the minimum we as LFC should be expecting every season.Originally posted by fredo View PostComparing Hammill who's been playing in a lower league to Riera who's been slogging it out with the best week in week out is just plain stupid rage, even by your standards.

Nothing has been rebuked Fredo. The same failings to beat poor teams are still there. We've had good results against Man U and Chelsea for sure but we've dropped 6 points at home against lower table teams.
Man Utd have closed the gap. We'll see what you say if Man U end up equalling our title haul

They're still 6 points behind us and we're notoriously 'slow' in November/December. Manure will be away for the WC championships and we will have the possibility to gain more ground on them.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostWhat's been rebuked? FFS, should we have been 10 points in front to please you doom mongers?

Hold on? Why is it doom mongering? I wouldn't say we should have been 10 points clear, but we should have been at least 6 or 7 points clear. And as for being notoriously slow in November/December, well that's just an excuse isn't it? Is that what you expect from a team, to have a bad november/december every season?
No one is here saying we're rubbish, Rafa should be sacked now we need massive changes etc. Some people are just being realistic, but then you'll just call anyone a doom mongerer who's not totally pleased with the situation we're currently in and who feels we could and should have done better

And what's been rebuked?
Well I'll tell you; we're on top and looking very strong and still have a good improvement margin to look for. You've all dismissed our strength in depth and the fact that Rafa has bought poorly. We've dealt with the absence of Torres for most of the season, as well as missing Steven Gerrard at various intervals so far. We've spunked United and Chelsea without one (or both) these players.
I would have been massively delighted if before the start of the season someone would have told me we would have been top 2 1/2 weeks before Christmas.
Nothing is perfect, and neither for our main rivals. United can't afford to lose Ronaldo and we've proved that we can cope without our best players.
In a nutshell, that's what have been rebuked time and again.

You look too much into performances and form. We've been steadily picking up more points than our main rivals and it is just on saturday that manure have managed to close back the deficit by 2 points; big deal.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostHold on? Nothing will be perfect and we won't wipe the floor all the time when so called 'lesser teams' will come at Anfield. We've been very consistent this season despite not achieving our best.
This title race will be very close and with 3 teams in it. I'm quietly confident that the squad is ready and has enough quality to win the league this season and to date the league table proves me right. It never lies.

We're top of the league in December. We don't have a 100% league record but we've improved a hell of a lot in our ability to pick up points, especially when we're not playing our best.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostWhat's been rebuked? You moaned like **** last year about being out of the title race by December. This December we're top and you say it's the least we should expect and moan about everything that's not been perfect. You're a moaner and we'll see what you say if we win the league. Actually, we probably wouldn't.

But is it Sarb, i mean football just isn't like that, your seemingly taking these points for granted, all sides drop points, the Madrids, Scum, Chav's, Barca even in this form i bet have dropped points, it happens, and invariably against sides you should beat, it's hard to take i know and it's very difficult not to look at the table and think as you are, that it could have been even better and we should/could have a bigger lead, but we aint done to bad.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostHold on? Our form is hardly going to be a perfect 'upward' curve isn't it?Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostWell that's open to debate
We'll lose points again and our main rivals will do so. Look at Chelsea; they are hardly invincible at home yet people think they are the mutts nutts.
Some consistency when analysing our form and results wouldn't go amiss. Some of you are just waiting for our form to drop to say 'we told you so'.
Well it seems like it by the way you all react when things don't go right.
Players are not machines. Our good start to the season has put us in good stead and we're now in the hunt. We were bound to hit a dip in form because we started early again with the CL qualifiers. It's been like that since Rafa's been here. It's not something which can be rectified easily during training sessions (the fact that we tend to lose points in December).
If we start winning again we'll still be top. This negativity annoys the players and that is clear judging by the way they displayed edginess against West Ham. We should sit tight a bit and let them play their football. We cannot change things at this point in time.
