Was Rafa trying to qualify his earlier statement about needing the opposition to slip up in order for us to win the league?

If they do slip up then I will be a happy man but I think Chelsea will be ahead by a point and ManUre will be a four points behind with a game in hand.

I do think we should have played 4-4-2 today with Babel and Keane up front, Kuyt on the right and Alonso and Gerrard in the middle.

Afraid it looks like Rafa has his Houllier-esque favourites and he's going to play them no matter what. Kuyt and Mascherano being prime examples. Had both players not been on the pitch from the beginning we would have comfortably won this game. Hindsight is a marvellous thing but in this case it was foresight.

I said the other week that if it were Manu or Chelsea in our position they would have likely won the games we drew recently.....past champions not only win those games but use the wins to put pressure on the other title contenders, i.e. imagine we were now 5-8 points clear....the spurs game this evening would have put loads more pressure on utd but as it is they now go into the game chomping at the bit to close the gap....as will chelsea tomorrow....

we can still do it, but we love making it hard work!

Aye, could see this one coming a mile off- even when were were tearing into them at 2-2.
As I said, I love Rafa, but decisions like today make me really question my faith. Had he brought on Keane & Babel & we'd still drawn, I'd be a whole lot less depressed, but that was just inexplicable. The tactics hurt more than the draw by some distance.
