It's not that easy to make a good performance if you only play once or twice a month. Maybe we should sell Babel? He has been **** almost every time he starts a game.Originally posted by fah-q View PostLucas, Worst player for liverpool in ages? Must not remember Diao.
The sell Babel is meant to be ironic and not taken seriously.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think you've misunderstood my point. I wasn't bashing Lucas, just commenting on how short peoples memories are.Originally posted by AFII View PostIt's not that easy to make a good performance if you only play once or twice a month. I think the big problem for Lucas was he was under pressure from the start, he cam as the brazilian league player of the year, which had recently been won by Tevez and Kaka, he was a midfielder who "broke the mold", a box to box player who would score greater goals, there were even a few whispers that he would be gerrards long (long) term replacement.....but he's not shown us fans anything to justify all of the above, now don't get me wrong I like him, as previous posters have pointed out he's had his good moments but I think his career at Liverpool so far can be described as being steadily average...
For me though the biggest reason to keep faith in him is that Rafa keeps playing him. Rafa is not a manager who is afraid to ship out players he doesn't think are good enough, he's not big headed like houlier was, who refused to drop a player rather than admit he made a mistake in the transfer market...
All in all I think he'll come good, but will he go on to reach the same standard as previous Bola de Ouro winners such as Kaka, Tevez, Robinho??? I really hope so but I think it's looking less and less likely...
Thought he done pretty well today when he came on, set up Torres with a lovely pull back and got into space for the header he missed.
i must of missed that one mate
i saw him miss an open goal from 2 yards out mind and remarked to me mate how well he,d done to make the room for himself

I'm not his biggest fan but he maybe one of those players who's gonna take 4 or 5 years to develop. I don't think he was brought in to plug a gap in the side/squad immediately. Maybe Rafa sees his as a long term candidate for Gerrard (stop sniggering!!). He cost a few quid I know but that wasn't his fault. To say he's "one of the worst" is IMHO a bit OTT. Incidentally one thing about him has impressed me and that has been his efforts to learn the language. For a youngster who's only been here a relatively short time his English is outstanding. I'd stick with him TBH.I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Agreed, it was a shocking miss by him but its not like he was the only one, and his setup for Torres certainly showed good awareness.Originally posted by Woobus View PostThought he done pretty well today when he came on, set up Torres with a lovely pull back and got into space for the header he missed.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
