I just get fed up with people having a dig a Lucas (not that you were) and Dossena.

Speaking of Dossena, thought he's looked good in his past couple of matches, playing with a bit more confidence in himself.Originally posted by Assassin View PostSorry mate

Why? He did **** all wrong and provide a good threat. Why is it misplaced.Originally posted by Baldemort View PostMisplaced confidence, unfortunately.

I wouldn't label lucas a waste of money just yet the kid has alot of potential
but still needs more time on the pitch as of the likes of babel and insua
and the few times he does get into the squad he makes clumsy challenges
which is probably due from lack of play maybe some time in the reserves would do him some good but as for being sold I cannot see that happening as he is not keane and rafa seems keen on him .

He did ok today, against the mighty Pompey. But he's been ****ing awful since we bought him. One swallow doth not a summer make. I'll be glad to rave about him when he starts to put in regular decent performances, and the same goes for Lucas. I will gladly stick by players who show some real ability and potential, but sometimes we end up with really average or poor players. I think Lucas and Dossena fall into that category. I hope I am proved wrong, but up until now, that hasn't been the case. Unless we're now happily accepting mediocrity as the new standard.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostWhy? Insua has already shown more than Dossena.President of the Ban Smileys Society

Dossena has definitely improved. I'd still have him third choice behind Aurelio and Insua, which is pretty unfortunate seeing how much he cost, but I didn't wince today when his name was on the team sheet, which is an improvement from earlier in the season.
There is a decent player in there somewhere and I'm glad he's starting to show it, but he's still going to have to keep improving to turn a lot of fans around, especially after Insua's showing in the few games he's had so far.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Maybe I expect too much of our fringe players. I include Dossena as a fringe player as although he cost us a packet, he still is third choice LB. It's just frustrating when you see Rafa pick up a gem like Arbeloa for a pittance, and then have Dossena as his opposite on the other side of the field.President of the Ban Smileys Society

I have to agree on dossena and I can see him on a plane back to italy in the
summer he has not shown any improvment since coming over from udinese
but don't speak to loud about insua the muppets on redcafe will claim he is not good enough to shine evra's boots
