Rafa is superb at getting his team to control the game. If he can get them playing with a higher tempo more often and adding the final ball/cutting edge in the last third, then it'll be job done.
I thought we had some good chances. A couple of time we could have followed up a bit quicker but Kuyt was rushing at the keeper a few times to pick up on anything loose.

We gave a good account of ourselves and it is clear that we need a bit more technical ability in the final third.

    Babel is Baros in disguise.

We had a good few attempts at goal and a couple of half chances before we scored. Not too much clear cut, although Riera's one where he did the flick, was a real chance.

We looked so much better today because for once the other team tried to come at us, which created fast paced chances on the break. That doesnt happen against the Stoke's and Wigan's of the world!

Very true. Today was never going to let us know whether our problems breaking down weaker sides, will still persist.

I suggest that a fit Torres will help alot, but really it's about the teams confidence for me. Morale will be much higher after yesterdays big win and follow up victories away to Everton and then Pompey will have them feeling ten feet tall.

            Heres hoping.

Thing is he gets himself into so many good positions and ****s proceedings up from there. Then when you think about it, most other players wouldn't be able to get into those positions because they wouldn't be putting their foot in where it hurts or feeding off of slight scraps from errors which defenders may give them.
Good post, I don't rate Kuyt as an attacking player at all, his first touch is aweful and he also as you said lacks a distinct lack of attacking skills. I understand about the work rate and all of that but in a 4-2-3-1 it imperative that the three players behind the main striker has some sort of skill and creativity to make the system work on the attacking side of things, Kuyt doesn't offer that. I don't rate him as a striker either.

That said we bossed that game from start to finish sending off or not and what the hell has happened to Ballack, he's gone from World Class to Turd Class!

I don't know, Chelsea pretty much player like Stoke did when they came to Anfield

He has to get done via video evidence surely. If they want the Lampard incident reviewed then they can't have it both ways.

So whats the deal with Bosingwa?

Does the ref have to have mentioned it in his report for action to be taken retrospectively?

What annoyed me in the post match analysis, and on MOTD was that they just kind of laughed the incident off in a "haha how did he get away with that". It was ****ing disgraceful if you ask me, and he should get a three match ban. Rescind Lampard's and ban the monobrowed Bruce Lee wannabe.
I have to say fair play to the players for not reacting to it though, many teams would have done.

If Lampard gets his ban rescinded I hope I can reclaim the lost points on my fantasy football side - I've gone into a worrying freefall recently.

Anyway Torres looks to be back with a bang, the benefit I think of getting 90 minutes under his belt. Those goals seem to answer a lot of questions - if he'd been taken off on 70 minutes he'd have had his doubters.

Media bollocks innit, if the Lampard incident hadn't happened I think they'd have made a bigger deal over it.

Yeah, if we can take 3 wins from 8 days, it'll be a totally different picture and things will be looking up.
