His performance today has to be analysed by the the FA and he should have a lot to answer for.

    1. What excuse can he give for the penalty?

    2. Why did he put the whistle to his mouth when Rafael climbed all over Modric at the start of the second goal, then not blow?

    3. Why did he let so many obvious bookings go?

Sick as a dog. Didn’t get carried away at 2-0 and expected United to claw it back by some injustice, but just didn’t expect it to be so blatant. Revolting.

That was sickening. Utterly sickening. I was pissed off after Villa but that shades in comparison to the total sense of injustice I feel right now. I honestly don't know what the **** Webb was playing at there. He must have been the only person watching that game who saw a penalty and as for the rest of his decisions, i think cowardly is the most apt description.

Once again one of our officials has made a huge impact in the title race and frankly its totally ****ing unacceptable.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Btw I wasn't being a cunt looking for that post I've just been away and this was nearly the first unread. Needless to say I did a bit of a wee when I read it.
I've seen them get scandalous decisions this season and put it down to 'thats football' but today is the last straw.

Apparently the linesman may have given it. He didn't whistle straight away

Well I'll happily split my absolute contempt between the two of them then.

Last 4 leagues game United should have managed 5-6 points max not 12.

i know we're in the thick of it and it's gutwrenching to see the scum cheat and fluke their way to the finish line but in the cold light of day i don't think any of us expected spurs to be a game that they would lose points in. city, arsenal and boro are the ones i'm looking at still. we can still do it.

Firstly, i did think Spurs had a chance of getting something. They're capable of being solid, have attacking threat and were in great form.

Secondly, it doesnt even matter what we expected, the rules need to be applied properly, and time & time again, they're bent in order to aid the mancs.

Why wouldnt you expect Spurs to get something, but expect City to do so? Makes no sense, City are ****.

                    The Mirror

Thanks Howard Webb.... United's 12th man.....
By Jamie Cullen on Apr 25, 09 07:28 PM in Tottenham

                    Howard Webb JPG

Yes it ended 5-2, but until the penalty, Tottenham more than held their own and seemed to crumble after an absolutely shocking penalty decision.

He may know all the rules of the game (debatable) but if the guy knew about football he would have seen that the challenge by Gomes was excellent.

2-0 to Spurs with nearly 60 on the clock and United not looking like scoring. Then Webb gives them most unbelievable penalty since Styles gave one to Chelsea against us and Finnan. In fact no, since Jlloyd Samuel tackled Ronaldo cleanly at OT earlier in the season. He was the only man in the ground who thought it was a penalty. Completely scandalous.

So that was it. Mancs had hope from nowhere, Spurs crumbled and conceded 5 in about 19 minutes.

Rooney played a ball through for Carrick who ran through, touched the ball as Gomes came out, before Gomes got his hands to the ball and alterered it's direction, upon which Carrick went over and the ref gave the worst penalty decision since a Bolton player won the ball via a clean tackle on Ronaldo, leading to the mancs being given a penalty at Old Trafford, in a game that they'd been struggling in.

                            And Wigan away.

But to expect Man Utd to lose two out of five is a BIG ask. Drawing with Arsenal will cost us I think. I still fancy them to drop points in a couple of games, but they need to lose both or draw three.

Had they lost today we would have smelt blood. Now our players and theirs will be thinking the opposite. big blow mentally.
                            Forwards.......

ah yeah - i know today that spurs had a great chance and they were done/ bottled it. i suppose i just dont think spurs are a team with much spine ultimately so i'd never expect much from them. totally agree about the rules being enforced fairly of course.

and i suppose i still think anything is possible in a derby - worse city teams have done better united ones.

Thanks for the update guys. So yet again the mancs are given a dodgy decision when they are struggling and need a lifeline. What a surprise. Its funny how they only get these decisions when they are behind or drawing. Something ****ing stinks and i am starting to smell it now. Rafa was ****ing right
