In all seriousness just how many times per game does Arbeloa get caught out? His positional sense is shocking, he's either not tucked in enough to help the centre backs or he's too ****ing tucked in leaving the opposing winger unmarked at the back post.
He's got alot of good qualities like pace, tackling and stamina but some of his defensive play has to be questioned.
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

As someone said earlier, there's a big difference between self-belief and arrogance. Carragher's among the top 5 defenders ever to have played for us, has been one of the world's best for the past 5 years, and is, with Gerrard, the senior professional at the club. If anyone's earned the right to give a teammate a bollocking it's him. Perhaps if Carragher's desire to win was matched in every player we'd have won the league this season.

You want arrogance, look at Ronaldo or Ashley Cole - players with a disdain for their fellow professionals and the people who pay their wages. But instead you choose to accuse someone who'd sweat blood for the badge on his shirt, without whose monumental efforts the most glorious night in our club's history would have been impossible.

The fact that Carragher shows such all-consuming commitment, even when the game is largely irrelevant, speaks volumes for his character and his dedication. It may not have looked pretty, but so what. It's a passionate game, sometimes players lose their tempers. As far as I'm concerned Arbeloa has needed a rocket up him for some time. Add that to the fact that he'd just seen his hopes of a title disappear for another year and I for one can certainly excuse Carragher's outburst.

      Arrogant? Jesus.

I think shipping Arbeloa out on the back of yesterdays spat would be a huge overreaction. Unless anyone knows of any ongoing tension between him and Carragher, then we've no reason to assume that what happened yesterday was anything other than a one off.

I agree with much of what you say but I must disagree with your final comment. If anyone has the right to be arrogant he did but, to me at least, he comes across as remarkably humble for someone who was The Messiah, Son of God and Saviour of Mankind.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Hardly. Five loaves, a couple of fishes and some water for turning into wine.

Organic ciabatta, wild Alaskan salmon and Perrier drizzled through a Pharisee's tunic is what I heard.

I dont think he comes over arrogant at all, no. It's all in the perception.

Rumours of him wanting out last summer. I'm of the impression this has been rumbling for a good while, its certainly not because he was a sleep at the back post but recovered to make the block.

It takes a lot to get Carra's respect, Arbeloa certainly hasn't got it, it took Pepe a good while to get it and all.
