If you turn right from the Kop along Walton Breck Road and go to the first major junction a couple of hundred yards away, turn left and, because you're at a much higher elevation than the city centre, you'll see the city spread out before you. Aim for St John's Beacon (the tallest building) and you'd have to go very close to Lime Street. It's so well sign-posted that even a baboon could find it

Every cunt will be walking back anyway, just follow the crowd and try not to get killed by the Kingsway traffic.

Cabs are usually queing up between the George and the Oakfield so I'd head for the junction of Breck Rd / Oakfield Rd / Belmont Rd.
Where are you getting the train to? does it stop at Edge Hill?

Personally I'd have a pint by the ground and get the later train.

I'm not keen on pubs when they're rammed full of people, either pre or post game. Can barely move, and it's not pleasant. I dont mind waiting for the later train though, minor inconvenience really.

Is there much at Lime Street itself? Food and drink stuff, i mean.

I'll be getting the train to London.

First time I walked I wasn't sure of the way but just followed the throng.

Haven't been for a while now but on a train recently I saw an ad in the Virgin mag for some posh (for a train station 'posh') loungey type bar at Lime Street. Otherwise there's a Burger King, a pub type thing and, of course, WH Smiths.

There's a pub. What else could you want?

                        It's a dodgy boozer.

To be honest Lime Street station is pretty basic, small and crap, hate to say it but Manchester's station is ten times better.

Aye, i'm sure i will too. I'd just like the 'thing to do' bit to be at or very close to Lime Street station - i cant be arsed going exploring after a match.

lime street is pretty central so there will be plenty to 'do' say within a 5 min walk.
