    ****ing 'ell.

Inevitable really as this was going to happen sooner or later after last years transfer window. Looks like Alonso wanted to go, and if Rafa had really, really wanted to keep him then he should've told Madrid to **** off as he still has three years left on his contract.

So Rafa gets £30m and Alonso gets his 'dream' move. Good luck to him I guess but it's sick that he couldn't wait just one more year when we're so close to winning number 19.

Ah well, he and Arbeloa will be playing for Villarreal next year probably, because no doubt Madrid will change managers six times during the new season.

Lets hope Rafa spends the rest of his kitty wisely, because at the moment, we're starting to look a bit bare in places. To think that at the end of the previous season we were probably only one or two players away of having a really capable squad, we now most likely have to add a full back, a centre half (or someone who can play across the back four), a new midfielder and perhaps a backup striker - though obviously it's hard to say exactly as it's yet to be seen if Rafa will stick to 4-2-3-1 next year. It's crazy that Alonso and Arbeloa have gone, yet we still have Degen, Dossena, Voronin and - to a certain extent - Babel. Madness.

Well good luck to Xabi, however come this time next year he will be warming the madrid bench when they bring in a new galactico to replace him.

To me thats the sickening aspect to all this. I just honestly hate Christiano Ronaldo - for everything he is and stands for - An Arrogant T W A T!

I'd smack him in a moment... he makes out he's some fu ck ing hard nut...
          the thing is...

You go to smack him and your fist would glide effortlessly as he's so greased up with Hawaiian Tropic Sun Tan Oil!

          Fuc king Knob!

And thats why I now.... have to dislike Alonso.

Hmmmm would love us to get to the Champs League final and it be us vs them!

Would be so good... we'd turn them over... but my gut feeling is... this will be an expensie waste of Madrid money... Perez (what a dick!)

Rant over... feel much better for that!!

          R4E
Mate that was brilliant! Honestly ****ing hilarious!

I don't dislike Alonso but I have lost a lot of respect of the man I thought he was (I imagine he will lose sleep over this).

It's incredible to think that, now Xabi has gone, only Stevie and Carra remain from the 18 in Istanbul in 2005. Amazing.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It is, but it's even more incredible to think we actually won the CL with that group of players.

I wonder how long it will be before we get the obligatory letter to the fans saying how we're the best fans in the world?

Aside from that, good luck Xabi fella.

good post, agree with everything said, at the moment we are a weaker than squad than last year, no xabi/sami/arbeloa and aurelio out, is concerning

but i think (hope) we will have 2 or 3 new faces beforoe the window closes, just hope they are all 1st teamers and take us up a level

I wish Alonso all the best but lets move on from this now and bring in a replacement or two and get this season started.

If we can use the money to bring in Defour and Aquilani then that's a good piece of business. We need to get whoever in ASAP though.
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

                          Absolutely devastated.
I know it's not life or death but it will take a while to accept that Xabi is no longer a Liverpool player.
Cant really say much more than that

Actually, come to think of it again...

You just don't sell your best players. It's bollocks. We're not Tottenham or West Ham. We're Liverpool for **** sake.

It's pony. Bollocks. Selling your best players.

Glad to see he is out the door. Under no circumstances do I ever want a player to stay at Anfield if he'd rather be anywhere else.

What is a problem is the fact that the deal dragged on so long, but what would people want Rafa to do? Cave in to Madrids demands and sell him on the cheap? I'm delighted our manager kept his head and screwed Madrid for the full asking price he wanted, with Xabi not getting a single ****ing penny from our end. Barca take note if you ever fancy buying Javier.

Personally I hope Alonso is a total flop at Real, just like Owen. Because maybe then our players may finally get the message that what they have at Liverpool will not be matched anywhere.

That said, if he ever returns to Anfield he deserves a good reception. He gave good service and leaves with us making a huge profit on him. He left to return home and play for a team buying the best players around, whilst he will make a packet and his newly born kid gets brought up in Spain. I don't think anyone can blame him for wanting to leave after five years.
                                Forwards.......
