I'm going to take a wild guess that a/ the fee will be undisclosed and b/ everyone will none the less have an opinion on what it was and whether we should have spent that much on him.

I think £16m-£22m was pretty nailed on and is fairly reflective of the market and the player.

Not much to complain at £20m. Unless he flops

I like that. IMO we still need a reserve striker and CB/RB. Get those and I'll be happy. In an ideal world we'd also add a top quality LM, though Riera and Babel are good options.

Benayoun and Insua ahead of Aurelio and Riera IMO

Still need one more 'make the difference' player.

Whether it's a striker, attacking mid, winger or whatever - we need one.

Some of those links source the BBC for that fee - yet the BBC football page says £20m.

Agree, Aurelio is number one at LB, but if I saw Insua on the team sheet instead, I'd be just as confident as seeing Fab there. Insua is going to be a star for us

Babel needs to improve his self confidence and believe he can perform well. He's got all the talent but needs the confidence to put it all together
