Echo claimed it was scheduled for today:
ALBERTO AQUILANI was arriving on Merseyside to complete the formalities of his £20million move to Liverpool – as Rafa Benitez described him as the perfect replacement for Xabi Alonso.
The 25-year-old Italian international has agreed a five-year contract and will complete his transfer from Roma if he passes a medical today – after flying into London and travelling up to Liverpool. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Baloney!Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAs if he'd book his own flights!!!
Surely he just does whatever his agent/whoever tells him. I doubt he has to sit on the internet looking for flights to book.
He searched for it on travelsupermarket & booked it himself, through easyjet. That's why the medical's been delayed, he was waiting for the prices to drop.

Just going by the clips on the net, he seems quite similar to Ballack in terms of shooting, breaking into the box, eye for a pass etc.
Perhaps not as clinical but i see similarities. Anyone else?"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

These comments echos my thoughts completely, I'm just being lazy by copying it.I don't think the problem with Liverpool fans has anything to do with his abilities, I mean we have all seen the YouTube footage and the glowing references about his abilities from Messrs De Rossi, Riise, Benitez and alike, but there is a massive question mark over this guys fitness.
The statistics don't make for good reading and surely at £20m it represents one hell of a risk.
I think that is my bone of contention with regards to this deal is the price if I am honest and had it been half that amount then I would certainly have considered it a worthwhile risk.
However to blow two thirds of the Alonso fee on a player with his history of injuries leaves me totally baffled and even more dumbstruck over what we paid for Glen Johnson.
It hardly leaves us with much resource to strengthen elsewhere, notably upfront.
What I find so hard to fathom is that we have spent nearly £40m on two players that arguably we didn't really need.
Defensively we were strong last season, in midfield we have an array of players who can come in to replace Alonso, however the wide areas and upfront we are totally short and without the sizeable funds to address the problems.
Surely the Alonso sale could have seen us bring two or three players in to strengthen the squad, yet sadly we haven't.
I guess we will see where we go from here and perhaps Rafa has deals already in place that we don't know about yet that we alleviate my fears.
I sincerely hope he has, as we can't go into yet another season with Fernando Torres having to carry the burden on his own upfront.

From the clips and what's been said I would say that Ballack is stronger but less gifted technically.Originally posted by Marky View PostJust going by the clips on the net, he seems quite similar to Ballack in terms of shooting, breaking into the box, eye for a pass etc.
