Correct me if you think I am wrong, but surely the funding for the stadium should have been in place when these jokers took over. And if so, I would have thought that now would be a good time to build with the consytuction industry in a slump there must be (or have been) a huge surplus of material availability etc.

I am totally and utterly convinced that with these jokers in charge we will never see a new stadium.

The new stadium is simply an illusion, designed to increase the value of the club. It will never be built under G+H.

The funding was in place for the initial work.

If it brings money to the club, eases debt and helps us go forwards, what's the problem?

I don't know what will happen but my simple logic tells me that should we start to really fail (Leeds it if you like) then the club becomes worthless, or close to.

In order for this to not happen the club needs to win more & make LOTS more money the second being the real key.

So the new owners are increasing cash into the club, it doesn't seem to go where we would like but it is increasing. We complained for years the club was underexploited, now someone is putting it right we're still moaning

The next logical step would be an increase in ticket prices.

            What happens then??

This is where a new stadium becomes essential to protecting the owners investment and future profit (again IMHO).

I have no particular love for the current owners, they just seem wrong for LFC, I would prefer someone with the low profile of, say Randy Lerner than our overexposed Statler & Waldorf.

As a small aside I find it heartwarming to see so many people on here who have never lied!
We've all lied and been lied to, (Father Christmas, Politicians, Tooth Fairy, Bosses etc etc ad infinitum) and it's a sh1t excuse to have a go

Slag 'em for whatever you like but when I hear "they lied to us" it seems to me that the reasons many want them out is because someone else wants them out.

If you think the club is moving in the right direction, great, support your team and enjoy it.

If you think the club is being mis-managed find out why it is and find out how to make it better, get involved with a group and try to make a difference. Oh and support your team.

It seems that a new stadium is getting further and further away! How much is this going to cost? I'd imagine that they wouldn't be making these changes if the new stadium were presently in sight!
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I know, how dare he not assume the worst, what a cock

It would be equally valid to assume this is to increase revenue to go towards the funding of a new stadium, but to go there would just be disloyal to the hysteria and frankly unacceptable

Err the fact seats are being taken away from proper supporters for a start. But as usual the apologists are out in force.

And as for your "lies" stuff, people like you and scratch are the exact reason they do deliberately bull****e, you lap it up and when it doesnt happen its "oh no worries, you're still legends"

Care to point out where anyone here as said they're still legends, or is that just lies, the same thing you hate H&G for?

I just happen to realise that I've been lied to before, will be lied to again and might even tell a porkie or two myself, it's called the real world.
It seems to me that some on here cannot stand the thought the Americans might just be improving parts of the club.

If you re-read my post you'll notice I didn't come down on either side but you like others will not tolerate any positivity regarding the owners. Therefore I must be an apologist who laps up whatever bull**** is laid out before me.

Like it or not lots of aspects of LFC needed improving and it would seem the business side is improving. We can only hope that the money is used to the best benefit for the long term success of this wonderful club.

What's a "proper" supporter in your humble opinion?

Just the normal regular person who wants to go and support his/her team, but now theres going to be less chance of them going so we can get some rich cunts in who dont even support us anyway. But yeah its great news eh?

Some of you make me laugh. Bleating on about our lack of ambition and commercial acumen, and the fact that the United's and Chelsea's of this world run rings around us.

And then the owners have the "cheek" to convert 1000 seats into corporate these same sheep bleat about this is proof that the new stadium will never be built.

It's like a bad maths equation. 2+2=5. Madness.

Perhaps our owners will never have the resources to build the stadium, and god knows they've lied about many things, but this latest decision is pure common sense and should have happened a long time ago IF we want to try and maximise matchday revenue.

It's that or sticking an extra £5 on each ticket.
