no worries for me. a lot of our support isnt really support and more 'sit in silence expecting to win'. we may as well make sure those sort of fans pay through the nose for the privilege.

its not like they'll be in the heart of the kop is it.

At the Debrecen game, there was a big chunk of seats unoccupied in the lower centenary near the Anfield Road End. I originally thought that a coach must have broken down - but it turned out that they were corporate seats, and the pricks were more interested in necking pints in the bar. They may as well have given them the Gwladys Street End.

There are far better things the club can do to increase revenue, without taking the game further away from the real supporters.

Haha what? Well we arent a mid table team without these 1000 seats going to corps so what are you on about? You seem so out of touch with supporters its absolutely frightening.

And it is a ****ing cheek to do this, we dont have enough seats for supporters as it is, now some more are getting taken away, yeah its ****ing great news isnt it?

I give up, people like you are ****ing filth. As bad as them two.

          Filth, brilliant.

I live in 2009, you live in 1979 it seems.

You either like how football has become commercial or you don't. I wish it didn't come to this but I'm a realist. If we want to try and keep in the top 4 then we need to grow revenue, lots of big clubs generate large amounts of money on corporate seats. There must be almost 10,000 of the ****ing things at Old Trafford.

So we either change or slip down the league. Sad but true.

This is such a shame, and it's fair to say that the fans that go regular will feel most threatened by this, the armchair supporters will find it easier to say ah it's progress, it's a need for cash, whatever.

Now i'm not saying either fan is better that another, but it's obvious that the regulars are going to be unhappy about it, so spare a thought for them eh.

I agree. In an ideal world this shouldn't need to happen. I'm all for the most passionate supporters to be in the ground making themselves heard. 100% for it. But the football world has moved on I'm afraid.

The football world has only moved on because people like you accept these things.

Let's face it - we are not going to compete with the likes of Man City and the Chavs for money - ever. But, we don't need to be Man City or Chelsea to win the league.

**** it. Let's turn the whole stadium into a glass corporate box. We might be able to afford Lionel Messi then.

And I can watch us win the league from the comfort of my own home.

                    Hooray!!

No, we won't be able to compete off the field, but in order to compete on the field we need extra revenue, hence this measure.

You can bury your head in the sand, pretend that we're doing fine and that we don't need the money, or you can accept that the world of football has changed, and we need to move with the times...for 18+ years we've watched the world go by, and now, finally, we are marketing ourselves properly and hopefully it will help us compete.

Besides, i thought you regular match goers didn't like the OOT brigade turning up, taking photos and talking through the matches, and i would have thought it would be a 1000 of their seats gone, not the season ticket holders like yourself.

The problem we have had over the past 15 or so years is that we have had people in charge of our club that has lived on our past and stood by idle while our rivals have gone on to bigger things. We have a lot of catching up to do and we need to do it in a short space of time.

If we want to get back to the top we need to be a ruthless as our rivals. The new sponsorship is a step in the right direction. Followed by this, new investment and naming rights for the new ground.
