That's precisely my point, they're more concerned about the comfort and the buffet and the nice warm executive box.
Each to their own, but to my mind, they're not really there for the football.
A seat in the stand, perhaps?Originally posted by Rich View PostAnd? What is the alternative?!

football is a corporate world now. the sky money has made it this and what you are harping back to is the mid 80s

Now I may be wrong here, but this is setting aside 1000 seats for corporate - nothing about any boxes....Originally posted by Craig_H View PostThat's precisely my point, they're more concerned about the comfort and the buffet and the nice warm executive box.

Ok, so if this is happening, they're removing 1000 'normal' seats and using them for people who want to pay £75 or whatever, for access to a bar, sandwiches and coffee/tea facilities.
Who are these fans, that cant go to the football without having a coffee and sandwiches with the crusts cut off?
That's the essence of every football fan's matchday experience, isnt it?

Rich ones who can afford the best and are willing to pay for it, and who will be helping to fund our new stadium so more fans can attend in the long term?Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWho are these fans, that cant go to the football without having a coffee and sandwiches with the crusts cut off?

What's actually happening is that we are setting up a new off-site hospitality suite in stanley parking (in a building whose name escapes me). 3 course meal, meet the ex players, etc etc. Then off over to the match and back again for drinks with Kenny Daliglish and crew. It's called sweating an asset and if the corporate hospitality waiting list is as suggested it's a very obvious way to raise a couple of million a year.Originally posted by Rich View PostNow I may be wrong here, but this is setting aside 1000 seats for corporate - nothing about any boxes....

You dont need to be rich to pay £75 for a 'hospitality' ticket so you can have coffee and prawn sandwiches.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostRich ones who can afford the best and are willing to pay for it, and who will be helping to fund our new stadium so more fans can attend in the long term?
Just idiotic.

If this was really the case then a lot more people would be happy about it. G+H cannot build a new stadium and are doing this keep hold of the club, hoping someone else with loads of money will in and fund a new stadium, that's what really pisses the fans off.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostRich ones who can afford the best and are willing to pay for it, and who will be helping to fund our new stadium so more fans can attend in the long term?Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Who's to say it's not? They're doing everything tehy can to increase revenue, the logical thing to do with the increased revenue would be to build the stadium which will greatly increase the value of their investment and increase revenue further.Originally posted by cream View PostIf this was really the case then a lot more people would be happy about it.
