Maybe he was not mentioned because people realised it was not the sort of game he should be starting when he has only played about 20mins since March.

What I will say is that if Liverpool are to win on a regular basis - That man needs to be playing well and in the starting XI.

If we're serious about pushing on our defense has to seriously improve. Our scoring record compares pretty well with our rivals, but while we're lacking confidence in the defense our performances are being held back.

At that point when Yossi came on we were starting to get a foothold in that game. Everton tired out, simple as. Then when they conceded the second they collapsed.

We were never going to turn up and play like Barcelona, we've got players who are just back from injury and rusty and the rest have had their confidence shot to pieces. The only way to get that confidence back and better performances is to grind a few out and go on a run.

I couldnt care less how we played, we've just won the derby.

It's not rocket science dizzycat. We are a team of small players in comparison to our rivals and as such we will continue to look weak at set pieces.

Jo and Fellaini towered above our players today and won virtually every header. We will continue to suffer at set pieces, but we should at least be making it hard for the opposition. For the Adebayor goal last week we made it easy. That is not acceptable and is something we need to get better at.

Playing the same defenders regularly will help that. so it depends on fitness really.

It looks desparate for us in the league, but tbh if we had 5 more points we'd be in with a shout. We could pick those up from our rivals.

                I reckon we'll finish 2nd again.
                Really?

I agree. We were rubbish but it doesn't matter. It never does really. We could easily have drawn our last two games, but instead we're talking about two wins.

We will continue to get better. I couldn't care less about the Fiorintina game, but I expect us now to get a win against Blackburn, and give Arsenal a really good game.

Being more of a defender myself I can say that it was a brave performance under pressure by the lads at the back. Carragher MOTM was fully justified - it is the type of game he will always shine in no matter how good his form in. Backs to the wall is Carras speciality.

But we lsot the midfield and could not keep the ball. Everton slowed towards the end and finally gave up the ghost when we scored a second. But for the most part Liverpool were all over the place. A 2-0 scoreline does not come even close to telling the story of that game.

But it is a derby and only the final result matters. Had it been another game I would have been concerned by the performance. We were abyslmal for the most part. Let's get it straight, we were not playing Chlesea or Barcelona, we were playing a team in worse form than us.

Had the luck been against us today we could have conceded a hatfull.

Oh, and I see Reina getting calls for MOTM. IMO he only contributed greatly on on eoccasion - the double save. That's all it takes I guess but he was far from amazing. Spilling the shot through his legs could easily have ended up in a goal.

But the players were well below the size of the Everton players and kept a clean sheet. They have to be thanked for that. A good platform for us to build on.
I think you over-reacted a little mate, although as the game drew on, I was tempted to go back and edit my post!

IMO, this isn't the worst we've played this season, but I agree with almost every word you've said here.

We won, which is great, but we were very very poor, and its a serious concern

Totally agree about Reina too, excellent double save, plus made a couple of other good saves albeit not matchwinners. But he looked a little shaky to me, spilled the ball twice, once which could have gone in

Masher was great at tackling, Lucas was solid, decent game. Saying that, for all their individual good play, we looked poor in general. Add Kuyt's awful touch and Aurelio's nonchalance, we were poor in midfield. Gerrard should have gone off too, clearly not fit

Aside from the result, I honestly can't see too many positives. Carra, Johnson and N'Gog were very good I guess

Something doesn't seem right at the club to me. Injuries aside, I dunno, just a feeling really
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Yeah we drew in the league and drew and lost to them in the FA Cup all within a couple of weeks as I remember
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I thought we were excellent today. Excellent passing out of defence and Mascher has been fantastic.

A win is what we needed, a win is what we got, how fit were some of our big names today, not very imo.

Just very happy we got 3pts and moved ahead of Martin 'marvellous doing a great job brill manager' Oneil's' Villa.
