Oh come on for ****'s sake. Which teams play pure football these days? Barca, Arsenal??? Man. Utd has a similar style as ours, so to are Chelsea. They mix their play, play pressing and possession football.

Arsenal and Barca are the exceptions. Not sure if it brings sustained success though. Good for purists and for Johan Cruyff maybe.

We're hoofing it because we're lacking in confidence at the moment, where a slip of a pass out of defence can result into a goal opportunity. It's about doing the basics right. Win ugly, build confidence and amass points.

    Not difficult no?

John Toshak was a battering ram during Shankly days and he was an aim for our defenders to hoof it up to him too. That's not to say that we didn't play passing football.

It's about diversity in our play.

Arsenal play excellent football, Scum played excellent football.....we were always about orgsanisation and being hard to play against. Nulifying the opposistion we very rarely go out and express ourselves

But we played the best football of the league only last season. We were scoring more goals than any other team. That's a ludicrous thing to say that we always hoof it up.

Well, it's a question of time. We need to force our luck though, nothing gets given to you on a ****ing plate.

Nail on the head for me.

We worry first and foremeost about stopping the opponent, no matter how ****e they are. We need to just concentrate on our own game and let the opposition worry about us FFS.

We played well first half. Then we got back into our shell and sat back, allowing them to put pressure on us. Rafa's football is all about conquering our opponent's half, playing pressing football, going for the jugular. You are wrong there.

we need to alter what we are doing coz this plan isnt working......Rafa has now said for the last 5 games our season starts now!!!!

But we were doing things right first half, playing as we've ever played with Rafa in charge. Putting pressure on the opponent and controlling the game. We scored, should have scored another when Nando missed a great chance then should have had a penalty.

Second half, we seemed to be afraid to do the same things. It's all about mental frailties to me. We need to win ugly, fight for every ball, hoof the ball in the opposition half, whatever, charge for the second ball, but win games. That's more important than the aesthetics at the moment.

The wind was knocked out of the team. This is the most worrying aspect as they need to get a bit of fighting spirit and quick. Recovering from setbacks is a vital component of a good side, Liverpool look beaten when they go behind, they don't even look secure when winning. Confidence is gone!!!!

Like the supporters who walk off before the end of a game we could still have drawn at that point. There's a team behind a team, as Shankly always said. The fans are the 12th man. It seems, Rafa and some players are ****ing walking alone at the moment.

to say we have won 3 in 15 games i still think the majority of fans( me included) are behind Rafa.

there are not many clubs where there wouldnt be a chorus of boos and a hounding of the manager seeing where we are at the moment!!

I hope it's the case, I sincerely hope mate. I have belief that Rafa will turn it around. He's not hiding and never has been. We should stick together and have a mentality where we believe that everything is conspiring at us. That's the only way. It's no good having fans turning against the manager.

I think it's because the most common expression in the pub after the game yesterday was "how the hell did they win that", shortly followed by "how ****e were we second half". First half we were excellent. Could, and should, have been two or three up. Second half we got caught cold by a lucky goal and went to pieces. As crap as we were second half, all Arsenal had was one half chance (great finish by Arshavin though) and scored two goals.

If we'd been outplayed, or if Arsenal had cut us to pieces for their goals with great passing play, then there would have been boos. It also would have been much easier to accept for me. As it is I'll stay gutted until Wednesday night.

There are just too many players who don't look comfortable enough on the ball, maybe it's a confidence thing or maybe not I don't know. The other thing we lack is movement off the ball. I caught the Premiership years on LFCTV on saturday and they were showing the Liverpool-Arsenal game from c1995 and the difference was starkling
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
