I wouldn't read too much into it, it's obviously just a protest about not being allowed to critisise the referees.Originally posted by zimbo View PostJust head journo on FiveLive who'd come from Rafa's press conference. Said it was the most ludicrous he'd ever seen. Rafa's response to almost every question was 'the referee was perfect'.
I'm sorry, but the referee wasn't responsible for our failure to make more than one clear cut chance in 90 minutes against the worst team in the division.
He is obviously unhappy with the decision but that isn't to say that he is blaming the referee for the current situation. (Although I haven't heard the interview so I could be wrong
)
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He looks very flustered and red in the cheeks in the interview on the BBC too, really obvious signs of the pressure showing, much like Houllier he has aged massively this season. Who'd want to be a football manager.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post
He really is cracking up now.
He's under a ridiculous amount of pressure and it's showing. ****ing hell, this is depressing.

This much is true.Originally posted by Robbie-fowler999 View PostI still can't belive that we lost to Pompey. Rafa has lost it completley. He refuses to change anything because hes a stubborn ****. It hurts me to see the club i love in this Circumstance because of his stupid decisions.
He constantly plays Kuyt and Lucas in the hope they will come good and prove his purchases were worth.
Torres up on his own is proving pointless and defenses are just swarming him as he waits for the 73rd hoof from Carra.
Why did Spearing come on over Ngog when we were down?
Sooooo tired I could cry, but I'm to bloody tired to do that.

Before each game I'm almost resigned to the fact that I'm going to watch an hour and a half of toothless ineptitute in attack and I start getting skittish everytime our opponents cross the halfway line. The problem is that in the squad we've probably got enough talent to field a more expansive, forward thinking team but I just think that Rafa will never put that team out. I'm at a loss to how we've regressed so much from the back end of last season and I can't see us geeting that level of form this time round. An awful state of affairs. Horrible stuff. I'm stuck post match knee jerk mode at the minute and that's making me seriously think that the only way around is a change in leadership to someone who'll at least attempt to attack teams. I really don't think thats Rafa at the minute so maybe we should cut our losses.
The only way around this one is for Rafa to bite the bullet, abandon his defensive and negative team selections and just really go for it for the next few games. Maybe Masherano being out may force his hand but he also needs to stop pissing about with left backs on the left wing, give Insua a break for a few weeks and get Kuyt off the right wing. Rafa needs to demonstrate just how flexible he can be and if he doesn't then he needs to go.
i'm sad that it's gone this far, as i feel only with a manager in charge for a long period of time success is possible, but something's clearly wrong in our team and it's depressing stuff to watch. right now i'd offer hiddink a chance to take over, before he signs a new contract with russia, as i think he'd bring out the best in the players we have, and with minor ajustments, would be able to salvage our season, as i don't belive rafa can
.
