The Daily Record is saying that we are favourites to sign Madjid Bougherra this summer. He is probably Rangers best asset and valued around £6m. However Record says that Lloyds bank will accept £4m for him

Iv not seen much of Wilson but iv seen Bougherra and I think he's improved a hell of a lot over past couple of years. Will be interesting to see how he performs at the world cup

If we are genuinely interested in him it's in our interests to get a deal done before the world cup price wise at least.

        Is Bougherra the ex-Charlton fella?

Yes. He's been in the UK for about 4 years played for Charlton and Wednesday previously. 40 caps for Algeria. He's 27 now and looks like a decent player. I remember him scoring in the champions league and being rangers only decent player in europe.
Cuellars done okay moving from Rangers to Villa and I don't think he's any better than Bougherra

If we get Bougherra that has to mean the end of one of our four CBs surely?

Hmmm ... Bougherra is rather mediocre. I'd be more inclined to believe we're interested in Wilson and that Argentine guy, which is more in line with our recruitment policy lately.

Bougherra is pish. He's looked good up here mainly due to the standard of strikers he has to face. Wilson should be the one we go for. We only win titles with Scots in the team

The 27 year-old has just won the Scottish Premier League with Rangers and is set to star in the World Cup for Algeria against England. He has experience in the Premier League during his time at Charlton Athletic and would be keen to make a return to England's top division.

Bourgherra's agent claims that Liverpool are leading the chase for the defender. However, Anfield boss Rafa Benitez is said to be the driving force behind a move to Liverpool and with the Spaniard heavily tipped to leave for Juventus in the summer, Bougherra's representative says that a deal is in the balance.

Farid Raayad commented on his client Bougherra in the Daily Mail, saying, "There’s serious interest from three clubs and Liverpool’s is the strongest, but it depends on the future of Benitez.

"Panathinaikos are also interested as are Fenerbahce."

Bougherra has made 19 appearances for Rangers this season, scoring two goals.

Rangers' Danny Wilson to complete Liverpool transfer............

                    By Alasdair Lamont

Defender Danny Wilson is expected to agree a move from Rangers to Liverpool in the next seven days.
The 18-year-old has just over a year left on his contract and had turned down the new deal on offer to him.
Liverpool had a previous bid turned down but have returned with an improved offer in the region of £2m plus add-ons that Rangers have deemed acceptable.
The Ibrox club stood to lose the player for around £500,000 in compensation had he not been sold this summer.
Wilson, who made his debut in October, was recently voted PFA Scotland young player of the year, having made over 20 appearances - two in the Champions League - and scored once this season.
Injury ended his campaign prematurely, but he will leave Ibrox with winners' medals from Rangers' Scottish Premier League and Co-operative Insurance Cup triumphs.

Fair to say Rafa is here for next season .....lets hope it's a good one

Im liking our new youth policy a lot. This guy is supposed to be class (according to my Rangers-fan cousin). Nice to see us adding more British players to the squad

Interesting and the guy is likely to be with us next season? Previously it was reported that he'd be loaned back to Rangers for a year to aid his development, no mention of that this time.

Heard somewhere that David Weir was the players of the year in scotland, he is 40 I think........IMO that speaks volumes about the quality of players in Scotland.
                              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
