Not sure I would want all of those but the backroom team would be what would swing it either way for me on the appointment of Kenny. I guess Sammy is at least a link with modern methods and Evans has kept his hand in with Wales (although I note no one is clamouring for John Toshack to manage us).

Certainly if some of that lot and decent sounding keeping and fitness coaches were involved I'd prefer it to Hodgson.

      Yep

Its like being on one of those old sailing ships and having a fairly amiable captain but a devilishly mutinous crew. One spell of foul weather and Woy will be tossed to the sharks

Kenny however is the type of "captain" that the crew will go down fighting with, even if the boat is sinking the vast bulk of the crew (fans) will be spouting about how it was a privilege to serve under him

exactly - the fans will be a bit meh, roy hodgson - but he will get clapped and welcomed. But if we then went on to lose gerrard/mascherano/torres, didn't have any money and we finished 7th or worse - then along with the owners, poor roy will be dragged into it and destroyed.

That to me is why its win win for Kenny

If things go tits up the fans wont go for Kenny they'll blame the owners (even more than now)

Roy on the other hand will be a whipping boy / human shield for the owners and thats probably why they will appoint him

Nice analogy, but not one I can directly relate to.

thats has been the worry all along - they won't want kenny cause he brings all the fans with him as back up - i really think kenny would only take over if the sale process was under way and it was a matter of weeks to say 6 months before it was complete and kenny was taken the reins till then. Sound

the appointment of hodgson is more of a - **** we have no concrete offers on the horizon so we are looking at 12 months plus for a takeover - , if we take on kenny he won't allow us to do anything that upsets the fans - if we ****ed kenny over, he's the biggest living LFC legend and it would cause a riot. whats left - roy, a nice man, not offensive, perfect fall guy.

another thing which ties with what has been posted and seems to be a bit clearer - kenny has clearly thrown his name into the hat now - he's made it a very clear "it's me or roy hodgson" choice - speaks volumes, especially given kenny was supposed to be appointing the the new manager - maybe the bigfella was right.........it does like kenny is saying "ffs roy hodgson, it's either a top name or me but not roy hodgson"

I think Kenny wants the job no matter what whether its short term or until a takeover happens (which to me is someway off)

However like you said the owners will go for Hodgson for all the reasons you have highlighted

i was reasonably happy with appointing woy, dont think he will be as bad as many make out.

but this is a no brainer, if the king thinks he can do it, let him try.

He has given more than enough to this club over the last 30 yrs to deserve an opportunity and thinking i will have a tear in my eye and have a tingle down my back right noe thinking about kenny walking down touching the 'this is anfield' and coming out to european-esque crowd chanting his name that will be a very special moment!!!

the owners must see that if they appoint the king that will apppease us for a little while and certainly be great PR not that they give a **** about that.

He will be cheaper, knows the club inside out, is a legend and wants whats best for the club........it really is a no brainer.

                          Odds shorten on Kenny
                          By Adam Bryant

                          Thursday, 10th June 2010
Odds on Kenny Dalglish becoming the next Liverpool manager are shortening following news that the 59-year-old Scot has withdrawn from the selection panel.

The odds on Dalglish taking over are now down to 6/4 with some bookies as favourite Roy Hodgson slips in the market.

Keep an eye on the prices today as more and more people decide to back the former Anfield legend to take the reigns once more.

                            Kenny. Every single time.

maybe - i think though say, if new owners were on the horizon and we were looking at a hiidink or a cappelo type appointment then i'd like to think kenny would say fair enough -

I suppose this will tell us all we need to know about how close Kenny is with the yanks, if they are royally ****ing us and never going to sell i agree it will be roy.

but maybe, just for once they do whats right for the club it will be Kenny. I just hope that for once they do the right thing.
