I think thats part of it

      Look at the events

Dalglish agrees to be part of the selection process with Purslow

They must then have discussed the parameters of the job (length of contract, wages, spending power etc..) and potential candidates

The parameters will set the quality of candidate you can attract

We have seen that with people like Hiddink ruling themselves out

This then leaves the second choices as potential candidates and this is where I think Kenny has thought I could do as good a job as those guys

Then asks to be considered for the job himself

This is where we are at now

In an ideal world we'd have new owners, a decent transfer budget and a world class manager coming in

Unfortunately we are nowhere near that and have to make do with what we have got

      Step forward Kenny

but maybe, just for once they do whats right for the club it will be Kenny. I just hope that for once they do the right thing.
i also think although a lot of people think if it went tits up it'd ruin kenny's legacy i totally disagree.....

it's win win - People often say that no one person is bigger or more important than Liverpool Football Club.....which whilst true, if there is one man alive that is a massive part of the club it's dalgliesh - if he takes the job, he's doing it for the fans and for the club he loves, he's taking it in an impossible situation, if he does ok, he will be loved even more, if it goes tits up - the worse will be "fair play kenny lad, you tried to save us but the yanks have ****ed us all"

if kenny was a **** up - the yanks will shoulder the blame- it won't effect kenny's stock imo
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Roy on the other hand will be a whipping boy / human shield for the owners and thats probably why they will appoint him
what does it say about us if they had the same season but we would love Kenny and turn on woy?

not sure i have quoted the right post but there are a few i think that hint at that.

well nothing really - kenny is a living liverpool legend, the clubs greatest ever player and did pretty well as a manager......in comparsion, hodgson is a no mark

If kenny finished 7th it will be a well done kenny, you did what you could

If roy had an identical season it will be - unlucky roy, not your fault but not good enough for lfc.

It doesnt paint us in a good light BUT I think we as supporters are pretty much at the end of our tether

The owners have ****ed us over so much there is only so much you can take

Roy to me would not be given the usual period of time we give our managers

Whereas Kenny would still garner a huge amount of goodwill for a long period hes a legend who has earned a HUGE amount of trust from the fans

I originally voted for Hodgson in the other thread because i wasn't sure Kenny wanted the job but now seeing all the rumours that he does i'd have him in a heartbeat although saying that i still think Hodgson could come in and do a good job for us.
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

surely that doesnt make sense if you step back and look objectively at it.

obviously this is all based on them having identical seasons which they probably wouldnt would they.

well yes it does - looking at objectively every single liverpool fan loves kenny dalglish - not one single liverpool fan loves roy hodgson (unless of course he has a relative who supports us ) - so if they had equal seasons be it they won the league, finished 10th or got us relegated, kenny is always going to get more support than roy. - it's a fact, it says nothing about us as fans other than we all love kenny cause he's a legend, and we all think roy is a bit meh. If roy hodgson won the league every would love him, but **** me imagine if kenny did. And the other end, if kenny got us relegated we'd maybe blame him but we'd still love - roy on the other hand would be shot

If it was, manager A had an identical season to manager B, then fair enough.....but thats not the case
