Restore the stability and dignity lost in the last two years? Really? When we nearly won the league one of those years? But hey, that's a convenient line to implicitly slight Rafa with.

Do these journalists just copy and paste what Purslow tells them to say?

I was suspicious enough when all these reports started appearing about how brilliant our now commercial operation was and how Purslow was doing an amazing job, despiite any absence of evidence of money to spend. But this stuff is just nonsense. Its all spin, spin, spin from the top at the moment. Do they think we're idiots?
the commercial side has moved hugely under the yanks. its sill to claim otherwise. I have no idea what job purslow is doing but if he has sacked rafa then some agree and some dont.

Woy has always been held in high regard by the people mentioned so its no surprise that they have given good reports . i am sure tht woy was involved in the uefa techincal things aswell.

If Kenny has withdrawn his interest then he would have walked away from the club already.......nobody knows what the score is

Has it though? We've seen lots of press reports about amazing new sponsorship deals and hugely increased commercial revenue. We havent seen any of it where it counts though in transfers.

Now, Im not saying its not happening. It very well might be improving. But Im always suspicious when every single report with anything positive to say about the club seems to praise Purslow. Especially when more recent events have clearly shown that someone on our current board is very happy to try and leak stories in a way that gets what they want (whatever you think about Rafa, leaking him being offered money to leave was a disgraceful and cowardly way to get rid of someone who always acted with dignity).

Its amazing. He's MD of a club that's bleeding money, that's sacked its manager in the middle of a transfer window having waited weeks to do so, that messed up the Chamouak transfer that Rafa and the player thought was in the bag, that may be about to lose the only free transfer we have agreed (which given we have so little cash, is not a minor problem) that appears to be trying to undermine the employee who the fans most support, and that's no nearer being sold or having a stadium bought despite him apparently being brought in to do one or both. And yet only ever good stories in the press about him?

Always remember most journalists today cut and paste from press releases or sent to them or notes taken of conversations. What you're reading is usually word for word what someone else wants you to read.

And I dont doubt people on the technical side speak highly of Hodgson. But its the little things about the way this is phrased. The ideal candidate? I dont think anyone would think he's the ideal candidate against, say, Capello, or Mourinho, or Van Gaal, or Lippi or even Pelligrini. It just looks like softening us and the press up for the inevitable appointment by saying that all the experts think that he rather than Dalglish is the best choice.

It has increesed hugely. a few things have happened though. Wages are increasing all the time and of more importance with relation to our club is the debt interest payments. Arent they 40m a year or so (cant remember the number someone will know it though) however our increased commercial activity is in reality servicing the debt and paying dumb and dumber their fees etc.

i have no idea about purslow what was his remit? i dont know it does look like he is a snake. you cant expect a company to issue a press release that says its md is **** can you. and as much as i wanted rafa to stay from a club management position he had to much power and a yes man may mean that there is more concentration on the field.

                Before:
                • Poor marketing operation
                • Old stadium that's too small to generate enough revenue
                • Little money for transfers

                After:
                • Much improved marketing operation
                • Most of the money raised goes on servicing our £350m debt
                • The rest goes into the pockets of the owners and other leeches they have appointed
                • Old stadium that's too small to generate enough revenue
                • No money for transfers

Who cares if they've increased the commercial take? We're not seeing any of it.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

well if we hadnt we would be constantly selling players to service the debt?

plus that income makes us more attractive to buyers though it does mean the ******s want a lot more money

So your point is, if I have understood correctly, they could have got us into even worse ****e than we're in now?

If you're dying, you're dying. What you're dying of doesn't really make a lot of difference in the end.

its the time taking to die as the cause is the same.

and we are not dying just very ill

                          Yeah, you could be right.

It feels like LFC is dead though. I can't enjoy the World Cup because I just hate too much about football at the moment.

The later the stage the World Cup gets to, the sooner it will be over.

The sooner it's over, the sooner we have to face up to club football, Roy Hodgson, Torres at Chelsea, Gerrard at Madrid, Benitez and Mascherano at Inter, Europa League, crap players, despair, depression, debt, disease and death.
