Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

roy hodgson isnt stupid. He will know that the vast majority of supporters are behind kenny and that if he gets the job instead of dalglish then the support from the fans will be there - but it wont be universal.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThe thing to remember again is the Kenny factor
NO OTHER managerial candidate has competed with / nor got the job ahead of anybody with such legendary status
You cant get bigger than Kenny in terms of living legend status and to get the job ahead of him you would (in most fans eyes) have to be something special
Roy doesnt fit that bill in any way shape or form and its why I do not believe he will in anyway be afforded the usual support afforded to managers (even outsiders as you put it)
Liverpool fans will back the manager no matter who it is - but he wont get anything like the support that dalglish would get and that might just decide it for him. Going to Liverpool you really need everyone behind you - the players and the fans and simply put he wont.
He is a nice fella and doesnt deserve the stick he is getting from some of us especially since he hasnt even got the job yet. But I really dont think we need someone to get us out of this depression that the club is in and only kenny could do that.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

I , on the other hand, am not sulking about Rafa's departure at all. I am sorry to see him go but I'm also hopeful that we'll see a better brand of football with the talent we have. I'm sick to death of us playing two holding mids at home .
Attack,

Totally agree! After all that's what the Liverpool teams of the 70's and 80's were all about, solidity and attacking football!

No, they weren't, the we're with the exception of the 87/88 team based around solid defence and passing, grinding the opposition into the ground.Originally posted by reds123 View PostTotally agree! is absolutely correct.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostNo, they weren't, the we're with the exception of the 87/88 team based around solid defence and passing, grinding the opposition into the ground.
If anything you have to look at the comparison with chelsea.
but the side that kenny built was just pure nectar. If anyone can get hold of liverpool thrashing united 4 - 0 at anfield it was just brilliant.
Watch it - i doubt we've played anything like it since that era.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

I'd argue that the 5-0 Forest game was better, but they're pretty close

Did we actually play two holding mdfielders at home against the weaker sides? Gerrard played there quite a lot and Lucas was given license to get forward more. I'd be interested to see some stats on this.
Attack,
attack,
attack attack attack
That's what I want to see
Are any teams successful with this mantra though? Fair enough i'll give you Barca but even they employ a high tempo pressing game. I'm just not sure all out attack would get us anywhere and would certainly lead to a dip in performance in Europe.
Why shouldn't we attack , attack, & attack some more. Much rather see us win 4-3 than grind out ****ty 1-0 wins and have to wake the old man when it's time to go home cause he's nodded off through boredom FCOL.
To each there own but I'd rather see us go down fighting than boring the opposition into submission. That's Everton's style not ours!Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
