    I liked what I saw in terms of SG and Lieva partnership in Rabotnicki game. They looked pretty smooth though you cannot really judge them purely on one game and with the weak opponent.

    Definitely would like to see Gerard, Aqua man and Lucas together but I am not so sure that we will see much formations where all 3 will be starters..

      There looked to be massive gaps on the counter in that game. Better teams would have destroyed us on the break (obviously to a degree we were playing to account for their weakness though). The Lucas - Gerrard partnership is very hit and miss - think the Stoke game early last season and the Wigan game later in the same season. I think the central axis of a team has to be steady and reliable.

      I may be biased though as I'm not a big fan of Gerrard in a deeper midfield role. I think he plays too many low odds long balls.

        I would agree about them being inconsistent but they rarely played together in tandem so I am not so sure that we can properly evaluate their partnership until they play steady streak of games if that happens.
