Thanjk you.

Well we won't get anywhere near the top 4, that's for sure.
United, Chelsea, Arsenal, City and Spurs have better squads than us.
We've got a starting 11 that COULD rival them but we all know it's not just about 11 players is it.
No it's also about a team and we appear to be so far away from having one with this group of players. It was the same for most of last season as well. 11 players, no team.
So far Frenchie has offered Bob the Charmer the opportunity to meet up for a scrap to sort things out due to some perceived differences in opinion about the tactical merits of Roy Hodgson.

Missed the 'last season aside' bit, or chose to ignore it?
And to be fair, my point was about Rafa knowing how to utilise his team to set up to go away somewhere tricky, and make us hard to beat - we looked anything but 'hard to beat' tonight.
Sorry all you guys defending Rafa, but that team which in essence is Rafa's team is awfully poor.....we can blame the Yanks to though
Unless we can some money spent, we are going to struggle big time this year.
No Creativity
No Width
No Chance.
We had a dizzy CB playing LB, Johnson looks ****ing awful at the moment, i would consider taking him out and sticking Kelly there for a bit.
Lucas, well i didn't think he stood a chance tonight against that team and he didnt. City remind me of a better version of our team under houiller, big brutes all over the park, they were hungry for it tonight and they put in some crunching tackles.
Jova and Kuyt as wingers? wtf hodgson has to see them in training? for a guy who knows how to get the best out of the team what the **** is he playing them there for? Babel and Maxi would have offered far, far more. Starting to feel sorry for Babel he actually looks like he wants it when he comes on.
As for upfront Torres is out of form and i like Ngog and sure in a couple of years he may make a decent striker but putting things into perspective we have a 1.5million reserve striker for PSG as our partner for Torres. Take out Torres and we must have the weakest forward line in the premiership i think.
on a positive though, we have played 2 of the expected top 4 in City away and Arsenal at home and we are only 3 points of second place
Yes, because Rafa told him to use a centre half as a left back, play 4-4-2, let one of our few creative midfielders go on loan, sign a DM to replace him, use 2 incompatible strikers in conjunction, remove Gerrard from the role where he's been ridiculously influencial in terms of goals and assists etc.
I haven't read any of this thread. Roy needs to change his tactics, we were totally overrun in midfield. If it's not working then change it - what's the point in bringing attacking players on when it's too late to pull the game back? Jovanovic was appalling, he should have been subbed at half time. Glenn Johnson had a nightmare, Agger and Skrtel couldn't cope with Adam Johnson. The system seemed to be the biggest problem they always had players available. Credit to Gerrard for the effort, otherwise they were all **** tonight.

It's all Rafa.
Don't you that Gerrards been ineffectual for 3 years? Quote: Richard Keys

I missed it, no matter, point remains the same.
I rate Rafa as a manager, but his style got us points and also dropped us many points. He wasn't the problem last season just as Roy isn't the problem now.
The problem is a lot more simple. We've got too many pretenders in the squad. Take Torres and Gerrard out of the team and our squad will do well to
stay up.
It means we had a **** squad, which got worse over the summer.

That's really not true though, is it?
It's still chocka full of internationals, who dont seem to be 'pretenders' when they play international football.
