Thanjk you.
Paul.S
Pellegrino - he was my choice, but he was interviewed by Kenny and did not impress him
Kenny - I love the man but this is a choice of the heart only. We need to move on.
Maradona - Nuff said.
O'Neill - worse choice than Hodgson
Hiddink, Van Gaal - they have jobs and even if they hadn't.. no chance with these owners.
Jose Segura - Don't know anything about him tbh, but surely a risk
Keegan - See Maradona
I wasn't thrilled with Hodgson either, but there are no decent candidates out there for a club as strapped for cash as we are. We cannot attract or afford a big name manager. Hodgson was a pretty obvious choice in the end. He hasn't impressed so far but he deserves more time.
Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson insists he will not be forced into a knee-jerk reaction after the club's shock Carling Cup defeat to Northampton.
Wednesday's penalty defeat was the first time the Reds had lost to a fourth-tier team in the League Cup and was their worst result since an FA Cup third-round loss against non-league Worcester City in 1959.
Hodgson made 11 changes for the game from the weekend's 3-2 reverse at Manchester United but the side still included first-team players like Daniel Agger, David Ngog, Ryan Babel and Lucas Leiva.
He now insists he will give the players involved a chance to redeem themselves and will not wield the axe immediately.
The Reds boss said: "I honestly believed with the players we had on the field, players with international and Premier League experience, we would be good enough to win the game.
"They have to do a lot of work to get themselves back into favour and I will learn an awful lot from this defeat about an awful lot of people.
Early doors
"It is early doors for some of them - some are still quite young and were making their debuts - but I don't want to be drawn into making a bold statement.
"It is September. We have got this group of players until January minimum, maybe even longer.
"I am certainly not prepared to make the statement that I am going to suddenly start wielding axes.
"A lot of players will be bitterly disappointed they didn't take the chance they were given but they'll get other chances I'm sure.
"The players themselves will be looking to take responsibility for their individual performances.
"Those that come to the conclusion 'I could have done a bit more' I am sure will look in the mirror and take responsibility for that.
"But it is one game and there are lots more to play. I would expect these players to learn from their performance, bounce back and, if they are going to be Liverpool players, to kick on from this very low point in everyone's career."
Hodgson must now pick his troops up for the visit of Sunderland on Saturday, with the Reds needing a result after picking up just five points from their opening five top-flight games.
He added: "It is a tough period to live and work through but we will survive it and we will get better.
"Results colour everything. You get a bad result and everyone has played badly, everything was wrong.
"There are going to be lots of other games this season where people will be expecting us to win and we don'tand there will be games where people maybe don't expect us to do very well and we do well - that is the nature of football.
"There are negative headlines after the Northampton game but let's hope on Saturday we can come out and give a good performance and put all those headlines behind us."
FFS Roy your not at Fulham now. You are the LFC manager! Could you imagine Shanks or Rafa coming out with this?
That's the nature of football" Is he having a laugh? That's the nature of mid table football! Liverpool FC should not be looking to lose many games and win games unexpectedly. He has absolutely no idea of what's expected of him, hence his negative, low expectation tactics. Wake up Roy!
IMO it's the 2nd sentence that is more worrying. He's right that there will be games that we're expected to win and yet might not, but to think for a single minute that we're 'underdogs' to any side that we're scheduled to face, as that statement implies, is defeatist.
we are underdogs against probably 5 other teams. and some of those matches we're going to win apparently...
we're a club destined to finish 10-5th with an outside chance of 4th. Roy is managing expectations towards that.
its disappointing and im alarmed at the start of the season and possible comments on a failed playing style but roy simply has to be given the whole season before he's really judged or anyone callls for his head.
we have to improve tho there is no doubt about that

Presumably Chelsea, Arsenal, Utd, Spurs and City?
No way. I'm never conceding that Spurs, City and Arsenal have surpassed us, just not accepting it.
Well for starters not got rid of Rafa. But seeing as tho an awful lots of LFC fans wanted him gone thats, what happened. As for a replacement, Daglish for me, he would of had the support from every LFC fan and would have given more passion and leadership than what Hodgeson is doing now. I can see us losing or drawing on Saturday if so we are into a whole world of **** and we might find that last season was a major success compered to this one. If Hodgeson does not sort himself out and soon we will find ourselves in a relegation battle, and if you think a club of our size would never be in the posistion, just ask Leeds and Newcastle if this can happen.
