SOS not happy about Roy's comments

        Dear Member

Tomorrow should be a game where we are looking to get back on track on the pitch. Instead, we will be fighting for our Club, to get it back on track in the boardroom. We, as supporters, have a duty to protect the future of our Football Club. Tomorrow is the continuance of a campaign to fulfil that duty. During, and after the Sunderland game we will protest.

Today we have seen and heard what the manager has had to say about protests. Our message remains as clear as ever - we will do what we feel is necessary. As supporters we don't want to be protesting. We want to be talking football not finance, we want to be talking left backs not leveraged buyouts.

Instead, circumstances dictate that we must do all of this - the protesting, the campaigning, the pushing to have new owners. Over three years ago, this "group of people" were watching new signings such as Torres and Mascherano, looking forward to a 'spade in the ground' in 60 days that would see us with a brand new stadium, competing with the best in the world, and built in time for Jamie Carragher's testimonial.

This "group of people" has over 50,000 people supporting what it is trying to achieve, with countless more supporting the campaign for new owners. We are very much anti owner for one clear and unequivocal reason - they have lied.

This "group of people" will protest and will continue to protest, because we have a bond, an unbreakable one with our Football Club. We can't just walk away. This Football Club is part of who we are, it's part of who our parents and grandparents are and were, and it's part of who our children will be. It's an emotional attachment that cannot be ridden roughshod over by businessmen in the pursuit of greed rather than glory. It's an emotional attachment that means we will do whatever it takes, regardless of whether it makes things more difficult or not, to save our Football Club.

This "group of people" will always support the position of Liverpool manager. We will continue to demand that the resources of the Football Club are directed towards assisting him in his job rather than being squandered on servicing unsustainable and unnecessary levels of debt.

The protests will continue. To those who say it affects the team performance, our argument is simple and honest - massive debts, crippling interest repayments and lying owners are what is affecting the team. If you don't believe us, read the ccounts. Or ask the players who have recently spoken of the need for new owners. Or better still, ask Roy Hodgson.

It's our duty, our responsibility, and our desire to bring about change at our Football Club. To rid it of men with no honesty, no integrity and no concern for the Club's future. Tomorrow, we will carry out that duty.

whoever took over from Rafa was on a loser, until the owners go the dark cloud won't move an inch. On the one hand you have a new manager who needs to get wins under his belt with the full support of the fans cheering us on to greater things and then you have a reasonably large section of the support planning protests and the likes.

I remember the days of Swales and Ellis, the off pitch activities always end up affecting the on pitch activities.

It is a ****ing nightmare tbh. Hopefully it'll be put to bed in a few weeks time when RBS do whatever they have to do.

Roy is doing himself no favours whatsoever. How dare he question those who are worried about the future of their club and have seen the club plummet from European finalists to mid table fodder in the space of 2 years? We've had promise after promise, assurance after assurance, and nothing ever happens! People are trying to make his job easier the idiot. Amazing, he dismissed the "group of people" like a gang of hooligans or something, obviously doesnt realise that this "group of people" have more care and heart for the club than all of the shysters at the top put together.

Apologies if this has been already been posted elsewhere.

                It's from the BBC today.

Hodgson get's a bit narked off at a press conference. Looks like he's feeling the strain a bit now.

He wasn't too happy with the question about whether or not he'd change his approach. I can't see a problem with the question personally.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

To be fair, there's a protest tomorrow and it won't only be SOS members. There'll be plenty of ordinary match-going Reds, non SOS members. Surely you support the protests? Whether or not you agree with SOS and how they go about their business (which I don't all of the time, far from it)...surely everyone supports the protests?

It's obviously not a balls out attack by Roy but he refers to the protesters as 'a group of people' as though they are a bunch of militant loonies.

                  And as for this:

"It is often the case that when things are conspiring against you there is always an extra thing to come in and make it that little bit worse."

without dissecting the whole interview a couple of things.........

" will one famous victory against Trabzonspur or one defeat against Northampton, make a difference blah blah ...."

Famous? wtf? does he know our history?

Also the reporter bottled it big time, he was clearly meaning his defensive approach when asking about changing his appproach but he dare not say it. the fanny.

Also nice to call it his B team on Wednesday......glad Agger etc all know where they stand

I'm not one for knee jerk reactions, but in regards to Hodgson I'll make an exception, he has to go and the sooner the better. In almost every game we have been comprehensively outplayed by our opponents, including for the first time a team for the lower divisions.

Squad depth has been offered as an excuse, yet only Barca and Munich had more players at the World Cup. The weaknesses of the previous year have been exacerbated, we have less width than ever, conceding more from set pieces and have developed an aversion to crosses that a vampire would be proud of.

The constant dampening of expectations, refusal to defend Torres and when trailing to the bottom team in the football league, Hodgson's tactical nous extended to throwing our centre back up front for the last twenty minutes.

I hope to be proven wrong, but fear that that I won't.

Roy doesn't seem to care about the club at all. All he seems to care about is himself.

I won't go that far and say that he piss on us fans but it is not far from it. It isn't the first comments that he makes that portraits us fans as more or less idiots.

Roy was never goimg to be an improvement on Rafa, but ffs, give the guy a break. He's moved to one of the biggest clubs in the world, we had world cup this summer meaning little time to get to know the players, there also been some big changes in the squad and we've played Man u, Arsenal and Man ****ty in our first 5 fixtures in the league. Oh, and theres a massive cloud hanging over the club in terms ownership, does it get any harder than that???

I don't agree with that. I think he's well aware he's very exposed right now and that a lot of fans aren't happy.

The trouble is he seems to want to deflect blame and attract praise rather than be a real leader, stand up for the club, take responsibility. Blaming the players, calling them the B team, insinuating the victory against Trabzonspor in the Europa League cancels out a defeat against a 4th Division side at Anfield, being unafraid to stand up to Ferguson's criticism of Torres rather than defending his own player, etc. He can do all that in private if he wants but doing it in public just make him look weak.

I didn't want him and I still wish we had Benitez but I don't want him sacked. I can't see who we could get who would be better and we all know the owners are the root cause of the problems.

I just hope he starts getting it right, on and off the pitch.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I am very worried about our club right now.....I think that defeat today may dislodge Hodgson quickly and that can only be a good thing, the longer he stays the more likely that Torres and Gerrard will be off.

We need a fighter at the helm right now, Hodgson is the opposite.

He is used to low expectations and exceeding those low excpectations because there is no pressure.......can Roy handle the pressure?
