I still can't see how people are choosing between option 3 and 4...

Is 4 more like putting a pet out of it's misery?

Jole Cole was free to talk to other clubs 6 month ago, and he joined us just few days after Roy joined. It is hardly believe that we could sign him in such a short time. Given that Yossi was allowed to leave before last season end and replacement should be identified, therefore, I guess that Jole Cole is Rafa's signning.

We are freaking Newcastle . In fact we are worse than the Newcastle of 2001-2006. Atleast they had some money to spend.

Roy Hodgson tells Liverpool fans: Judge me after 10 League games

Comments (0) Add to My Stories Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson will not make any assessment on how well his side are performing in the Barclays Premier League until the season is at least 10 matches old.
Having drawn at home to Arsenal, lost at Manchester City and beaten West Brom the Reds sit 13th with four points.

Hodgson has made a few changes to his squad and late arrivals back from the World Cup and the recent international break have prevented him being able to work with his full complement of players for a sustained period.

Not bad: David Ngog fires Liverpool ahead in the draw with Arsenal....
But despite already being five points behind defending champions and current leaders Chelsea the Reds boss is not jumping to any conclusions.

'I know how many points we have but I don't know what that means in terms of the table,' he said.
'I think tables are of no interest until at least 10 games have been played.
'Then you start looking to see how big a gap there is between yourself and the top teams or between yourself and the bottom teams. I don't think you worry about that after three games.

...but the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City - with Carlos Tevez netting twice - showed how much work still needs to be done at Anfield
'The programme plays a big part in that and we've already played Arsenal at home and Manchester City away.

'Injuries play a part as well when teams don't have their best team available early on but will do soon.
'After 10 games I will start worrying about the table but until then I'll worry more about performances and results.'

                At this stage last season:

                P W D L F A PTS
                6 4 0 2 16 9 12

It was seen as a disasterous start and it's fair to say that the pressure was on us very early from the press. Look at Man Utd in 2nd place this season.

                P W D L F A PTS
                6 3 3 0 16 9 12

                This season we are here:

                P W D L F A PTS
                6 1 3 2 6 9 6

That's half the points total we had at the same stage last season.

                After 10 games last season:

                P W D L F A PTS
                10 6 0 4 24 13 18

So if we win all of our next 4 games, well be where we were at the same stage last season.
So very differing reactions from the fans and the press when comparing us last season and Man Utd this season.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of the media if we win our next 4 but only equalled what was seen as a disasterous start last season.

Well well well. Rafa was getting absolutely destroyed this time last season. I remember the massive hoo-haa about Spurs having a better squad than us etc.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is considering a January move for Newcastle United winger Wayne Routledge - if he gets enough funds from the Anfield board.

Expectations are too high at Liverpool FC says Roy Hodgson

ROY HODGSON believes expectations placed upon his Liverpool side are too high at present.

The Anfield manager was pleased with Saturday’s 2-2 home draw against Sunderland and felt his team were unfortunate not to have claimed a much-needed victory.

Hodgson insists patience is required as a clutch of new recruits find their feet in the Premier League and within the structure of the Liverpool team but says he saw flashes of promise over the weekend.

Hodgson is adamant suggestions before kick-off that Liverpool should have beaten Steve Bruce’s men were dismissive of the opposition, but has backed the home supporters to be understanding as it will take time for the side to reach their potential. The draw takes Liverpool onto six points from their six league games so far this campaign to leave them in 16th position in the table but Hodgson remains upbeat.

“The expectations being placed on the team are ones they will find very hard to live up to until they bed in as a team,” said Hodgson.

“It’s more a case of using certain players in certain positions in certain games to get them to the position I want.

“It’s them finding their legs as Liverpool players and me finding where best to use them, but we are going to see a very tight league this year.

“The understanding will of course only come from games, and we’re all coming to terms with the expectations.

“Everything is still very new, a lot of new players, some uncertainty about the ownership, but the moment we’re not flying people say it’s not good enough.

“I’m not saying it is, but that maybe it’s something that could have been predicted.

“We can’t do more than we’re doing and we have probably the most passionate and interested fans in the world. I have a lot of faith in those fans and they know how difficult it can be at times.

“I consider myself unlucky not to be sitting here describing a victory.

“We weren’t given an easy start and the next period will be very important. It was important to bounce back because if we hadn’t had that magnificent reaction, it would have been a very black day. We showed a lot of character and determination and played some very good football.”

Liverpool are next in action on Thursday when they take on Utrecht in the Europa League with Hodgson hinting he is likely to play as strong a side as possible in Holland.

Hodgson also hailed the performance of Fernando Torres who he says is starting to show some of his best form and was wrongly denied an early goal.

“It’s on my mind to play Torres, Raul Meireles and Dirk Kuyt on Thursday.

“I think they’re knitting together well.

“I thought Torres today was much, much different to the one in the first couple of games, and I will pat myself on the back by saying I told you so.

“People wanted to see his best the moment he stepped back onto the field after the World Cup, but I said he needed games, he needed time

“He was unlucky not to score one of the goals of the month, with that magnificent control and volley that was inaccurately ruled out for offside.

“It was only Meireles’ second start and there was another start for Joe Cole. There are moments giving me satisfaction but I know it’s a big job and I can’t just wave a magic wand and Liverpool will suddenly dominate English football again. But there were a lot of pleasing factors today.”
