Not a ****ing chance Roy finishes higher than Rafa

Frankly I'd be ****ing astonished if he was still here by Christmas

As you have said elsewhere the next 4 games will make or break him
I'm still behind him for now and sure we'll see either way whether he can do better than what Rafa did last season.

But, I've been shocked at how much worse he's been than my lowest of expectations, brutally bad both on and off the field... still, at least the players are happy now.

I haven't enjoyed a moment of this season... i can't remember feeling like this towards the reds in a very, very long time. Last season is beginning to feel like a vintage year in comparison.
        Spot on pal.

I think given the circumstances, top 4 is optimistic, and sadly shows the state we are in, I fear that it's the best we can hope for at present.

If we were to finish 4th or higher we'd probably have to have had a good season (sadly). If we were to finish 7th or lower we'd have had a bad season. I fell somewhere in between would be an average season.

I'm not saying that finishing between 5th and 7th is good enough, but sadly I think that's where we are. Finishing lower that 7th though would be totally unacceptable.

That's how I see it I'm afraid. As a club we should be challenging for the title year in year out, but as we've managed maybe 3 title challenges in the last 20 years so that's not realistic, given the poor state of the clubs finances and the lack of strength in depth over recent years show we are below our normal level of top 4.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'll tell you what if the board starts to hear it ‘Hodgson out’ vocally from the supporters on match day, well that will mean they will have a supporters mutiny on all fonts, they will have to change. Now I've seen many things at OUR (yes it belongs to us, check out all the stories about the famous Kop in the trophy room) fantastic club, but at the moment I really do feel sick to the stomach with all of this. You know what right at this moment I feel that Liverpool FC actually deserve relegation because we're behaving like a relegated club already, divisions from board level to manager to players to supporters. Deary me I've never felt like this even in Sourpusses reign. Oh yes and Hodgson has to go

How can people believe that both will continue their form this season but not turn around?

Roy can do better job than Rafa last season but Rafa cannot do better job than his last season?

If decision is in accordance with last season, maybe we should replace Torres by Samora and Gerrard by Murphy.

i'm guessing you mean this latest uefa cup final, not the other one he reached years ago.

Roy can do better job than Rafa last season but Rafa cannot do better job than his last season?
under normal circumstances this is true, but in the current environment at anfield, it's somewhat doubtful rafa would have achieved more with these owners, with this board, and with this group of players.

more than last season i should say, not necessarily better than roy is doing so far.

when you look at what is going on at the club, i think rafa had to go. results may not have helped, but it was obviously not just a footballing decision, although it did affect the side, and continues to do so.

If things do not change quick smart I can see us bobbling around mid table mediocrity this season no where near the champions lg spot let alone the title. Lets hope RBS sell to ChowChow come Oct and we buy all the bestest quality players mother of the bitches

For the bulk of while Rafa was in charge the club should have been hitting 4th place every year because there were 3 other clubs with more to spend on wages than us, and like it or not that's how it works.

Now I reckon that's down to 5th place with City being in the mix with money.

So a manager being basically competent gets us to that position.

Roy Hodgson got a "13th" placed team into 7th, and then got that same team pretty much where they should have been in 12th but with a European final to boot.

For all I'm disliking us at the moment, I'm tending to think he falls in the "basically competent" group of managers rather than the "special" or the "disastrous" group, so I'm making a basic judgement that he'll get us pretty much where we are "meant" to be given the resources the club has at it's disposal.

And that's 5th. But seeing as we were 7th last year, saying I think we'll do better than last year gives me predictive leeway for him to be a place short and that still be true.

I don't think the league is weaker by the way. In recent times there's been Chelsea and Man U and Arsenal with a higher wages spend than us. Now Man City are higher too. That means our "expected" position has fallen from 4th to 5th making any LFC manager's lot more difficult.

I'd be interested to know Spurs wages these days too as they must be sniffing down our necks also.
It's not Other teams, Spurs included, have also bought better than us and bought players who create better teams than us.

roy is the right man for us right now cause he is the best of what we could realisitally get at the moment.

the players are happier now he is here ( as agger / ste / carra etc ) have all stated and to be fair bar some final bite in the last third we would have won more games than we have done so far.

things are looking slightly better game by game and once these new players get used to playing with each other ( they've played 1 game together as our first choice 11 ) we'll get better.

its slightly embarrasing for our own fans to be this wound up after 6 games. rafa left us in a ****ty state lets not forget and it'll take roy time but we'll do not bad.

we're 5 points off 2nd after a ****e start and the other teams having pretty good ones. IT'S NOT ALL DOOM AND GLOOM!!!
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Well they're hardly likely to say otherwise. I can't imagine that Agger is really that happy at the moment for a start.

Aye really ****ty. He left us with four truly world class players in Reina, Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres (three of which he signed himself), and countless other internationals like Agger, Kuyt etc. Really ****ty of you Rafa!
Obviously everything wasn't perfect but let's please stop repeating what the media want us to believe.

                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Roy was hardly left Mascherano to be fair, as there seems to have been an agreement that he'd leave in the close season.

Roy has been left a quality goalkeeper, and two world class outfield players, one of which was already here. He's not really been given a great hand to play in my view.

I think he was left a difficult situation but even accepting that Mascherano was all but off he had a squad that was capable of more than was shown last season. He has managed to produce less. Given that he had a **** situation in terms of the World Cup, Mascherano saga etc. he deserves more time than some seem willing to give him.

That said the squad is better than some make out and I don't think he has yet worked out how to get the best out of it. His transfers were interesting I think Meireles and Cole look like the right sort of ideas, Poulsen a real miss-step, and Konchesky an understandable attempt to speed the transition to his way of playing. He however seemed to make no attempt to rebalance the squad in terms of width, pace or an additional forward.

At the minute I feel a bit sorry for Roy as he is getting it in the neck for everything he says whether it is reasonable or not. He's not helping himself with some of his comments though.

In a way the fact that I didn't want him before he was appointed may be clouding my judgement but I still feel he hasn't done enough to persuade a sceptic to back him and plenty to make his backers question him.
