Surely it would be best served to knock this thread on the head for few more weeks, and then take it up then, seems the most logical and sensible thing to do. Fellow LFC supporters squabbling amongst each other is getting all too familiar over recent years, its pathetic.

You could argue that, yes. I guess the main problem is that had, say, Jose Mourinho taken over people would look to what Jose has done before and would give him the benefit of the doubt that he will get things right.Originally posted by alunevans View Posti know mate, but whether it's results, or performances, or anything else you want to assess, it's statistically unsound to base it on a sample size so small.
Problem with Roy is that he hasn't done anything like what we would normally want to see from a potential LFC manager, and as such the performances and results are just confirming peoples worst fears.
Anyhow, Roy should get the backing of the fans (at games) until he leaves the post. I don't see us getting a new manager at least until ownership is resolved so no doubt you'll get your wish for him to stay on and have a proper go at turning things around.Forwards.......

just pointing out that such a sample size is statistically insignificant and any manager can point to a run of games where you play crap and/or get nothing from a small run of games.
as such, any decisions based on this sample are pretty groundless.

He might be our manager but that doesn't prevent people talking about how bad (or good) a job he is doing at the moment. Results, performances and his general attitude haven't been good enough for a Liverpool manager to date. We're worse off than last season.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postand you can ****ing argue until you're blue in the face but it won't change the fact that Roy is our manager and you're being ****ing unreasonable. Are we winning?

ok. you've said it. so have hundreds of others. lets leave it and wait to the next performance for you all to disect. nothing to be achieved by going over and over the same ground.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostHe might be our manager but that doesn't prevent people talking about how bad (or good) a job he is doing at the moment. Am I being unreasonableOriginally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postand you can ****ing argue until you're blue in the face but it won't change the fact that Roy is our manager and you're being ****ing unreasonable.
To expect him to be an improvement on a manager who was sacked for failing to meet our expectations
Am I being unreasonable to expect us to beat a 4th Divisions side at HOME even with a 2nd team
Am I being unreasonable to expect us to have more than 6 points so far
Am I being unreasonable expecting him to have by now instilled some basic tactics and organisation in the side
Am I being unreasonable to expect his best 11 to put up more of a fight against Sunderland and not to surrender possession
We've been second best in virtually every game (barring Arsenal)
I'm not one to go to a match and howl for blood that is not my style but hes doing nothing to change my opinion that he was not good enough for Liverpool and in fact I can only see things continuing on a donward curve under his stewardshipBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. Arsenal had other chances, had they scored earlier they could have been expected to push for the win since we had ten. Agger was off side, linesman had his flag up and wouldn't have counted anyway.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostFor all our 'woeful performances' but for Reina ****ing up in the first game and agger missing a sitter at the weekend we'd have 4 points more and very comfortable.
Then there is the West Brom game, they deserved at least a draw and had numerous chances to take the lead. Had they done so, would we have come back?
Against Birmingham they had three great chances to score, heroic saves by Reina saved the day there.
So whilst we've been unlucky at times, we've also had our own fair share of luck.Forwards.......

True but yez are going way over the top about it, surely you can wait a few more games and then we can all get a better assessment of his position, going on and on about it is just causing bickering and arguments.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostHe might be our manager but that doesn't prevent people talking about how bad (or good) a job he is doing at the moment. Is it not a logical thing to say right, give him the next 4 games and see how they pan out, with them being apparent winnable games, oppostion having tough games and our players surely bedded in by then, there are no excuses then and only then IMO we can talk about Roy's position? The knives have been out for Roy even before he had his first game in charge, people itching to jump on him at every turn.Last edited by danperkins; 28-09-10, 01:04 PM.

Fair enough, but it's a bit like saying, "I'll go to the pub and discuss with miserable people tonight" just for the sake of it. Don't click on the thread if you don't want to read people discussing about the merits (or lack of) of Roy Hodgson mate.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postok. you've said it. so have hundreds of others. lets leave it and wait to the next performance for you all to disect. nothing to be achieved by going over and over the same ground. Are we winning?

However I feel its critical that after these next 4 league games if he hasnt got at least 9 points we have to address his position
