What do you think we are in now
6 points in 6 league games
Out of the League Cup by a 4th division side
Playing like ****ing ****e, completely clueless tactically
And yet the manager thinks things are on the right track, despite telling a heckler at Anfield he didnt know how to change things

To be fair he seems to have involved Kenny in the process (and realistically do any clubs use 'football people' and not the chairman/CEO when appointing managers). Obviously Kenny clearly felt he was better than any of the alternatives but it is hard to view him as unbiased in that decision.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostIt was a terrible decision to appoint him but what can you expect with non-football people like Cecil making the decisions. What a mess.

Do you seriously think Kenny would have thrown his hat in the ring if there was a better candidate?Originally posted by dww View PostTo be fair he seems to have involved Kenny in the process (and realistically do any clubs use 'football people' and not the chairman/CEO when appointing managers). Dalglish is probably the most unselfish person I know in regards to Liverpool, yes it would be a dream return for him but he'd never do anything he didnt consider would be in the best interests of the club
Which is probably why he asked to withdraw from the selection process to be considered as an applicantBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I'm not saying that he didn't think he was the best choice or that he was acting from self interest. I just don't think that anyone is necessarily the best judge of themselves and without day to day management experience in recent times it is not clear that anyone could have any evidence as to how well he would get on back in the role.Originally posted by Lecter View PostDo you seriously think Kenny would have thrown his hat in the ring if there was a better candidate?

I'm not at all sure that he was the best candidate. That said I think I would have rather have taken a chance on him than Roy."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

We wont be finishing top 4 this season
With the best will in the world you are delusional to even think that
I have heard few people argue that we are playing well (you and Roy it appears)
We are WORSE than when Rafa was in charge
Results are telling you that its the worst start for over 28 years
If we dont win on Saturday its the worse start in 50 odd years (since we were relegated)Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Until H&G are out, Roy is the right manager. No ****er is going to do anything with anybody at LFC at the moment, so sacking him now, with another borrowed multi-million pay-off will be cash we don't own thrown in the wind.
A new manager is what "the majority" of people wanted last year, including some of our key senior players, and that's what they've ****ing well got. Good for them.
No-one's going to enjoy this season until those two **** bags have gone. Regardless of who ever is managing.

Actually I dont believe Kenny had much say. In a recent interview on LFC TV Kenny kept on refering to Roy as a 'nice man' but not a 'good' or 'great manager'. Just my hunch Dave.Originally posted by dww View PostTo be fair he seems to have involved Kenny in the process (and realistically do any clubs use 'football people' and not the chairman/CEO when appointing managers). I kind of got the feeling too that Kenny was sitting on the fence.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostActually I dont believe Kenny had much say.
