If we're serious about "not being like Newcastle fans" then I think it's time to grin and bear it. It's very far from easy of course but I really don't see it's helpful to do otherwise.

Fact is his regime has been dreadful so far and it wont take another 7 or 8 games to further enforce that

I've seen NOTHING from Hodgson so far to suggest the team is a work in progress and things are improving

We lack far too much for him to turn it round, if he was capable of this we would be seeing some improvement (which we havent)

I know people want results and performances straight mate but its very early days, i'm just shocked at the reaction to Hodgson (i'm no fan of his), he really hasn't been given a fair punt at this juncture. I have nothing wrong with criticism but i just don't feel its just at this moment, when the time is right and it is fair to judge the man, i'll be first to voice an opinion and will have no problems with any criticisms.

I didn't want Roy, would have had Kenny (who is a distant relation of mine, had to get that one in ) but i think its crazy to be after the mans head after a few games with all that has gone on.

People keep comparing him to Rafa, look we know Rafa is a more successful manager than Roy but fact remains Roy was left with Rafa's team, which failed miserably throughout the whole of last season. Hodsgon has tried to gut the team, getting rid of most of the dead wood (ran out of time with Lucas and Babel), he lost Masch, got Poulsen/Konch/Merieles in very late, zero finances, top players only back weeks after World Cup so **** all preparation with the core of the side, and certain players wanting to leave, add them to a poxy fixture list and the team trying to adjust to Roy's way of playing and his style of management!

Its not as cut and dry as 54% of people are making it out to be, let me reiterate this as i'm really am sounding like a Roy Apologist and i hate that, but what a messed up start to his LFC career, so many factors involved in a truly ****e start to the season that have to taken into account,surely?

I understand that the football we have played this season thus far has been garbage as have been the results, carrying on from last season in which these was also garbage. I don't like Roy's lack of urgency and certain team selections but he's the best we could have got. We cannot and will not attract a top manager to Liverpool F.C. until the embarrassment which is our off the field aituation is completely resolved.

Apart from Kenny there was no other manager that would have touched us, i would have chosen Kenny bubt its not as simple as that and he has been out of the game a long time. People can say Mourinho,Hiddink,Pellegrini (and they were) and blah blah blah but realistically it just wasn't going to happen. We got a decent manager in that understood the premier league, he is a stop gap replacement, we all know this and i'm sure if/when we get new owners in, Roy will be a goner.

This thread is relentless, i just don't understand how people can over look what has gone since Roy came to be LFC manager, the knives have been out from Day 1 and will continue to be.

Well so many on here gave Reira/Dosenna/Aqua and many more flops at least a season and cried out for more time on these players, so why not Poulsen? Is it maybe because Roy signed him and Rafa signed the others? One rule for Rafa and one rule for Roy?

Poulsen has done an alright job thus far in his LFC career.

There are so many strong characters on here, bound to be debate and sometimes arguments, i don't mind the debate but **** the arguments no time for that ****. Not really. Jovanovic was a Benitez signing and I still think he looks **** too.

I don't even 100% blame Roy for signing Poulsen, like Rafa, his hand was forced in the transfer market, he's had to budget buy, and that's tough to get right.

All of the other players you mentioned above, showed glimpses of real promises at some stage early on, the same just can't be said about Poulson. Or would you be brave enough to argue against that?

Nah Riera/Dossena/Aqua are from a different pool of footballers. Granted they didn't work out but Poulsen is a mid-table signing while those mentioned are a better calibre or at least had the potential to be.

Also danperkins, you say give the team time to adjust to Roy's style of management but what has his style of management actually achieved in the last 30 years. Have you seen his away record? Is he suddenly going to become a great manager because thats what we need at the moment.
