I don't know about anyone else, but my discomfort isn't that Nigel, I've expressed my own criticisms too. It's the sack him calls that bother me, not the commentary and critiques.

To expect him to be an improvement on a manager who was sacked for failing to meet our expectations No, but you don't know the answer to that one way or the other because he's only been given 5 league games. So you're being unreasonable if you think you already have the answer would be my thoughts.

Am I being unreasonable to expect us to beat a 4th Divisions side at HOME even with a 2nd team No, it was a horrendous result

Am I being unreasonable to expect us to have more than 6 points so far Yes because 6 matches won't tell you anything about how good anything is.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina remains confident the Reds will soon turn around their season after a tough start to the campaign.

Roy Hodgson's men find themselves languishing in 16th spot in the Premier League with just six points from their opening six games.

Reina believes their tough fixture schedule - as well as adapting to a new manager and new players still getting to grips with the team - have all contributed to Liverpool's slow start.

"Six points from our first six games is not what we wanted," Reina told the club's official magazine.

"People who criticise us about it should look at the fixtures we've had. It has been a difficult start. Arsenal at home and then going to play Manchester City, Manchester United and Birmingham away was never going to be easy.

"Not many teams will go to the City of Manchester Stadium, Old Trafford or St Andrews and win. Those three teams have very good records at home."

Reina has also pleaded for patience as the players look to get used to Hodgson's new methods.

"When you have so many changes moving in a new direction under a new boss, things don't happen instantly," added Reina.

"It can take between three and six months before you see improvements. Obviously the quicker we adapt and improve as a team the better it will be for everyone.

"That doesn't just happen overnight. Each of us has to adjust to working in a new way.

"With the passing of each day I get used to it and what the manager wants. It's the same for all of us. We need to be patient."

Defender Martin Skrtel echoed Reina's sentiments and he remains hopeful of finishing in the top four to qualify for next season's Champions League.

"A lot of people think that when a new manager comes in everything should be perfect but we need time," said Skrtel.

"Our aim is to fight for a place in the top four. That won't be easy as there are a lot of good teams also going for it, but if we continue to improve as the season goes on, we can get back into the Champions League - that's our aim.

"A lot of things have changed here. We have a new manager, new players, new medical staff and some different people around the team. It's always going to be difficult when you change so much."

Again we rely on pepe :legend: to talk some sense into the overe the top fans who cant find posisitves in anything. sad little people who feel they must nit-pick and moan at everything.

          well said pepe!!!!

They seem disgruntled with his terrible tactics and I can see certain big player wanting to leave in January. Even the Fulham players are all coming out now and saying how turd a manager he was.
year 1 saved them from relegation
year 2 finished 7th (where we finished last year)
            year 3 europa cup final

hardly a turd manager for fulham to be fair.

this is what i mean about people just putting the boot in.

i'm not even a roy hodgson fan, but just being a fan of fair criticism is making me look like one at the mo.

Fair enough to a point, but if we don't find form for 6 months, we are properly ****ed.

The expectations are totally different. If I'd be sure who would be befitting of managing a club like LFC, I'd have looked at managers having had similar roles in the past, or an up and coming and promising young manager, but with the attributes of winning things. Benitez had those characteristics and fans gave him time. Hodgson never had the credentials in the first place and fans are worried and much less inclined to giving him the time he maybe deserves.
                Are we winning?

That's the expectations for a small club. Would you be satisfied if he achieved that with Liverpool?

Sam Allardyce had a decent record with Bolton - would you consider him to be good enough to manage Liverpool?

And it's the Fulham players who are criticising him too by the way.

I never understood why he liked to play Molby at CB in a three CB line-up when he was our most stylish midfielder.
                    You didnt have rotation then

The midfield pairing of Whelan & McMahon was superb and brilliantly balanced

Whelan was probably one of the most underrated midfield players we have EVER had

I always felt that when Molby came in the balance was not quite right despite him being a superb player

At the time Hansen, Lawrenson and Gillespie were sufferring a lot of injuries, Nicol was often playing at centrehalf and I think Kenny sometimes went with Molby in there as part of a 3 to compensate deficiencies there due to injuries

Fact is the standard of football then was far in excess of what it is now

We won the FA Cup that season and came runners up in the league losing to the famous Michael Thomas goal

How many away games has he won in 3 seasons?

His CV was nowhere near good enough to be even considered for the job, nevermind get it at the expense of people like Pellegrini & even Kenny

                        6 matches in the LEAGUE

                        More games in other competitions

Eitherway things havent improved we look rudderless on the pitch its not as if things like shape, organisation, tactics have improved

Its not as if the pressing of the opposition has improved

Its not as if the tactics have changed

I dont care how unreasonable I sound to you hes not good enough

So far its been completely negative, ****ing ****e football completely devoid of passion & tactical nous

I'm by no means reactionary normally, I was not one who was diving on the Rafa bandwagon last season after the same number of games

If I see something out there that points to a reasoning for it I can understand

I cant for the life of me understand anything hes trying to do, its completely at odds and often conflicting

Look at Benitez he was considered a negative manager but at least he had them organised and pressing for the ball. He might have been a total control freak with his obsession for controlling the game but at least thats ****ing something

I dont see how you can as a Liverpool side look to surrender over possession, defend for your life on the 18 yard box and even then not press your opposition when they get near. Then instruct your defenders to get rid asap to a man who is not and never will be a target man

Sorry it just doesnt make sense

Frankly I find it SURREAL that we even appointed him

FFS I keep expecting a live dressing room feed where Rafa steps out the shower and tell us it was all a dream

It was a terrible decision to appoint him but what can you expect with non-football people like Cecil making the decisions. What a mess.
