I hope he doesn't and he goes for a mix of experience and youth.

Last thing we want is that we lose likes of Stevie and Torres due to injuries in the competition that is really not that important and it should be primarily used to test and provide an opportunity for squad players and players coming from injuries.

I would like to see Torres,Gerrard and Carra on the bench and go with Ngog, Pacheco and Kelly.

      Something like this

      Reina

      Johnson Skrtel Agger Kelly

      Meireles Pacheco Poulsen/Lucas Cole

      Kuyt Ngog

Does he not look daft that after saying how he needed to rest players all the time he's now sticking out a first choice line up?

Plus it should be remembered that deploying the second string we've notched up 5/5 wins. Uterecht might be a slight step up but they're hardly world class opposition.
          Forwards.......

If he can describe Northampton as Tough, and Sunderland as a good draw...

              Konchesky sidelined until derby

              Monday, 27 September 2010 19:21

Paul Konchesky will be absent for Liverpool's Europa League game with FC Utrecht and the subsequent Premier League meeting with Blackpool.

The defender suffered a hamstring injury making a sliding tackle in the weekend's game with Sunderland not long after the Black Cats levelled at 1-1.

However, Roy Hodgson expects the man he signed from Fulham will be back in his plans for the short trip to Goodison Park in mid-October.

"He's got a hamstring strain," the Red's boss confirmed.

"I couldn't tell you exactly how bad it is yet.

"I don't think it's extremely bad but I certainly think it would rule him out for Thursday and next Sunday.

"Hopefully it won't be much more problematic."

Daniel Agger is expected to operate at left-back during the 29-year-old's absence.

I think he should go with the core of the first team. If he signs of something cohesive coming out of the chaos we have to build on that. We've been so disjointed this year. Whilst I and everyone else has welcomed seeing a few young players get a game I think that doing so without a well established team is probably pointless overall and certainly hasn't helped us to gel a team together.

I'd be tempted to start more or less the same team as against Sunderland if I was Roy.

I would like to see the same personel but just in their right positions.

Konchesky can remain on the sidelines for as long as he wants, pick up his salary and I won't mind.
                                Are we winning?
