I think Jay had a great game against Bucharest. I said at the time though that the level he reached in that game is what he needs to meet all the time if he is to kick on and be a success.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View Post
He won't though, as Roy has a bit of a thing for Jay Spearing. No idea what he sees in him, Shelvey looks BY FAR the better prospect.
Such a shame for him that he went and had a poor game v Northampton. I think many who played that day lost a bit of backing they had.
Shelvey on the other hand perofrmed well when he came on and it is such a shame we are out the league cup as that is a competition we could have played him in. I'd love to see Shelvey given a crack with Lucas in the center of the park tonight.Forwards.......

Yes, I pretty much agree with that.
I just don't see jay as anything more than a decent Championship player unfortunately
, he just doesn't have enough about him to succeed in CM at Liverpool
Shelvey, on the other hand, is a born winner, you can tell in his body language the second he get's on the pitch. A potential future star in the making and I think he needs some game time already.
I agree, I'd start him alongside Lucas tonight too.

shelvey does look ahead of spearing - it's a shame for spearing - there is some promise there, but not enough - i think he's been saved by the the home grown rule, at least for this season anyway. - Shelvey's already ahead of him, and if he is given a chance, a few more sub appearences and maybe a start or two in europa games and a league appearence, by xmas i think we'll see spearing gone - in fact - i think the best think we could do is give spearing a bit of game time to get him in the shop window - if he plays a few times we'd prob get a few mill for him - if he doesn't he'd just be farmed out on loan,i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
