    I'm almost positive they can't.

An ideal scenario would be Liverpool staying at an expanded Anfield, and Everton being forced out of the city allowing Tesco to create their wish-washy stadium, but I'm fairly confident that Anfield can't be built on in any direction.

For the future of the club, a new stadium is a must. But it has to be *our* stadium.

Don't think we need 60k+ anymore.

When ticket prices push beyond £50 per match I don't think the demand will be there for something that big.

I'd be happy for Anfield to be redeveloped into a 55k stadium as long as the corporate facilities were on a par with other big premiership clubs.

Why not? I'm pretty sure that architectural designers could come up with something worthy of consideration?

Perhaps we could adopt the "ryanair" standy uppy seaty thingumjiggy?

Seriously though what are we talking about here, an extra 15,000 seats? The Main Stand (c. 12,200 seats) could surely be looked at for redevelopment? The Anny Road (c. 9,000 seats) could be upped to match the Kop (c 12,500) and I'm sure The Centenary and The Kop could benefit from a 'freshening' up so to speak?

Would there be a need to build outside of the existing Anfield blueprint? I don't know but advances in build and construction industry would surely mean we could get more on the existing Anfield blueprint?

I think we could sell out 60k/70k stadium easily IF the team is successful/entertaining. If the current dross continues and prices increase then you're right we could have difficulties.

I rather a big stadium then a small one where there is no room to accommodate more fans when demand increases again.
                We come not to play.

Would it be plausible to hold out for the possibility of holding the World Cup and then we could get a new stadium payed for by your British Government?

There's a number of flaws with that suggestion. Basically, no.

The Government wont pay for anything unless they need a moat cleaning. Never would happen in a million years.

                          No.

Should the English bid be succesful, Anfield will be a World Cup venue, regardless of whether a new stadium is ready or not.
                          Oh I don't know.

Absolutely. NESV will not make a rush decision. They will considered all options and choose the one that makes the most economic sense.

Having said that, I cannot see how ground sharing would be in our best interest so imo they will not even entertain that idea but they will listen, as they said they would, to anything and everything.

                                Are taxes high in Australia?

The government seems to spend a lot of money on sport.
