You are all directly responsible for the utter mess we're in on the pitch now.

You brought this on, and I hope you feel proud of yourselves

How would you feel about feeling 7th now you idiots? You'd all jizz in your pants for a 7th place finish now wouldn't you?

If you'd all been sensible enough to see the bigger picture back then and get behind Rafa he'd still be here. H&G couldn't find a way to force him out until you lot all turned on him. The second the fans turned he was gone in a flash.

If we'd backed him we'd still have one of the best managers in the world at the club, new owners, and positivity all around the club, Rafa would finally have been able to go for his first choice signings etc.

Instead we're in the worst shape since prior to Shankly and you're directly to blame for it

New owners, but until Roy's gone well.........IAFN.
Rafa is as much to blame for the state of this squad.

I dont know how many players he signed but I'd say only 4 were decent world class signings.

It doesnt matter how much nett spend you though he'd had, he has signed loads of mongers.

Unfortunately Roy is continuing in the same vein, only with no tactical accumen whatsover.

No one really doubts it was time for a change, its just this time the wrong guy for whatever reason was bought in.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

it was time for rafa and it was right to part ways with him.
replacing him with roy though does sadly seem to be the wrong move though.

          I'm in agreement with this.

The time was right for Rafa to go. The problem is we appointed the wrong man to replace him.

**** post, this has nothing to do with Rafa leaving, he had his time and he ran out of ideas last season which was fairly obvious. I didn't hound out Rafa and was split on whether he should have had another season or not.

But fact is we didn't play well last season, and more or less the same lot of players are playing wank this season.

This has to do with us hiring Roy and nothing else. We hired a manager that is way out of his league instead of one that could take us forward.

What we need right not is player with an attacking approach taking the game to the opponents final third and plays the type of footy we have failed to do under the current and the last 2 mangers.

I certainly would NOT like to see Rafa given the money we're going to get soon. He went because he didn't win us the league in 6 years. Simples. And he had a damn sight more money than we tend to hide under the carpet.

Now our owners are sorted out, we can go for a better manager than Rafa or Hodgson. My personal favourites would be Hiddink or Pellegrini.

Nope. Appointing Hodgson was the mistake not sacking Rafa. Rafa had very little support left from the players, he had to go and alot of Rafa's squad is total ****e anyway.

The problem is we selected the wrong man to replace him. That needs to be put right now and im sure it will be fixed

You are just taking out your frustration on people who've been taking the piss outta you for supporting Rafa.

I'll still say this. Letting Rafa go was right, getting Hodgson in wasnt. Moan about hiring Roy not the sacking of Rafa
                      Spot on mate..

Rafa needed to go.. Things got stale and he lost a few players..

It was the appointment of Roy that was probably wrong but the time was right for Rafa to go.

We had more or less the same squad last season as we have at the moment, with Rafa in charge they finished 7th. This team with Roy in charge is 19th with 6 points after 8 games and has been out played in everyone of those games.

If the squad is playing at it's real level now then Rafa did a fantastic job to do as well as he did. If the team is underperforming then the manager has to take the blame for that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

All of you that are disagree with me are missing one crucial point here:

                          - When we sacked Rafa the club was in a huge mess and no decent manager wanted in.

Those of us with a few braincells knew that a manager as **** as Roy was all that was affordable/realistic if we chose to sack him. It was always going to be a managerial downgrade due to the state of the club at that time.

If you're all honest you all hated Rafa so much at the time you just ignored this simple fact as you were so desperate to get rid of him.

I lost faith in Rafa when he was talking to Juve when he had a job to do here. But **** me i would have him back in a heart beat. Although spending almost £40m on Keane and Aquilani didn't help his cause.

**** off with that ****, pablo. not only did i write i agreed with you on some level, but i was truly sad to see him go. i wanted fresh ideas, but still in my heart hoped he could turn it around himself.

still not sure he could've fwiw worth.

I hold fast to my view that Rafa had to go. His defensive, over-complicated tactics, his constantly playing out-of-form or plain untalented players while resting those who could change games, his taking off anyone who dared to score a goal let alone threaten to score a hat trick etc, drove me absolutely insane last year. Roy is terrible and the moment he is out of our club I will finally feel the cloud lift, but Roy Is Awful = Rafa Is The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread is total kneejerkery.
