Unquestionably. When teams who were our rivals under Rafa and are no longer rivals (United apart)...when they want to buy a new midfielder, they just buy one. They don't have to sacrifice one to bring another in. It was our dire circumstances which led to that shambles.

Jesus ****ing christ! Can't this just stay in the Rafa watch thread, this is getting utterly ****ing tired now.

What's the obsession with this ex manager, he's gone and he's not coming back. I can't get over the way some people on here treat him as if he was the great man himself.

I also think some of the signings like Johnson and Aquilani deserved more time. GJ at the beginning of last season was adding a lot t the team and then got injured and Aquilani started to be effective towards the end of the season. Look how Nani and Berbatov have improved this season relative to previous seasons at United. The problem is that with our lack of money and injuries to Torres and Gerrard we were unable to give new signings time to grow in the team. All of the top teams except us in recent years have had the luxury of allowing players to take time to get used to the team as they have rarely had to wait to sell players to buy in replacements and have had time and money to invest in replacements.

It will be interesting to see how United go now when it looks like Fergie might have to be more reactive in the market when addressing real issues, and faces not dissimilar problem to those Rafa faced throughout his reign.

This thread is boring. If I was to apply this ideology to my life, could I get another girlfriend without losing my current girlfriend?

Not sure about that. I know Rafa is true to his word but IMO, if he was approached I reckon he may break his contract and join us at the end of the season. That's IF HE WAS APPROACHED.

Well yeah, funny that isnt it Stan? Which 3 players, at a combined cost of £6m are 'good enough at the highest level' ?
Based on the tactics he is employing, he can take the current Barca squad and I think he would still achieve only 6th or 7th position. He is neutralizing every strength we have and making good players look ****, and mediocre players look absolute crap.

The **** has this been merged with the Rafa watch thread for? That thread is for following his progress at Inter, nothing else. This is an entirely different topic.

But like Rafa had, I have financial constraints. I feel I may not be able to satisfy financially the needs of both women. Therefore, one would have to make way for another.

Was Rafa without major faults....... nope.
Did the Liverpool board read EST1892 before deciding to sack Rafa and employ Roy....being really silly now.

Sorry we all love the club and are gutted at our present performance but to say people on here "hounded" Rafa out is absurd.
The original post wasn't just aimed at Est users it was meant to be aimed at those Liverpool fans as a whole who turned on Rafa as last season progressed (including a small minority on here) and were very vocal about him getting fired.

If you don't believe that fan power played a significant role in Benitez leaving then you are very naive. I fully admit Rafa made a lot of mistakes last year. But I also firmly believe if all the fans had continued to support him fully he would still be at the club now and we'd be in much better shape than we are currently. Whether you want that or not, or if you agree is to up you.

If you don't want him at the club now and are happy with the subsequent results of him leaving then I have to accept that, but I still stand by my point that those that really turned on Rafa last season made a significant contribution to him leaving and the knock on affect of that decision has sent us tumbling into the bottom three. I hardly think that's hysterical to be honest and I think you're being over-sensitive.

Some Liverpool fans ****ed up in wanting Rafa gone, including a handful on here, those that did should be willing to accept that IMO.

It was either that or delete it. There are plenty of threads discussing Rafa at the moment without need for another one really.
