I'm sure they can appoint him to start for the beginning of December - waiting 6 weeks to get the right man, isnt a major sacrifice.
He could give high level advise on the shorter term issues without being in the role full time I would think (by this I mean about the manager). It is much more important to get the right man in than to get someone in right now.
I guess the only problem would be related to the management situation and I would expect Dein might be able to make recommendations in that regard any way.

Well, I think that Purslow asked Carra and Gerrard and then acted the way they wanted. That means Rafa sacked and replaced by an English manager.
If we want a new fresh start then we must probably get rid of Purslow, Carra and Gerrard. Carra and Gerrard simply have to much power off the pitch. They are at the moment bigger than the club and that is a **** starting position for any manager.
Possibly. But if we get rid of Gerrard we get relegated, because Torres is already pretty much gone, and the rest of them are ****e.
It's simple. I think vonk has got the arse on cos in the 'welcome Hodgson thread', he spat his dummy out at those of us saying it was a **** appointment by calling everyone drama queens.
As I said Shaggy, I wanted Pellegrini, but I was prepared to give Roy a chance. It was a risk, but so was Kenny when we appointed him.
It hasn't worked and no-one is disagreeing that. The point I was trying to make was lost because you all started defending Rafa.
Possibly. But if we get rid of Gerrard we get relegated, because Torres is already pretty much gone, and the rest of them are ****e.
Nonsense. Gerrard's a great player but we've coped fine in the past without him (he missed a few of our games en route to Istanbul IIRC and quite a few the season before last when we were second) and we'll cope fine in the future as well. No player is bigger than the club, or more important than having the right manager in charge.
The idea that we're a one man team is classic Sky Sports hype.
22 games without an away win in the Premier League (which incidentally is double his nearest rival - Hughes 11)
30% odd win record over his tenure of ALL his Premier League clubs
I would class Hodgson in the same league as George Burley in that he struck lucky for one year but that his general performance level as a manager is below average
Shocking CV. I just don't understand why everyone seems to be under the impression he has a glittering CV. He has experience, sure, but not of winning.
My mate t'other day compared his CV to Capello, WTF??? Capello has won everything, Roy has won nothing FFS!
I don't even believe Pellegrini was ever a real candidate. Reckon the interview with him was just a token gesture. Hodgson was on the cards from about March/April.
Definitely.
