Seems Gerrard is **** scared of what Hodgson will say to the press and realises he'll probably babble on about it. Does Roy not realise this shows a lack of faith from Gerrard in him handling the situation correctly or am I reading too much into it?

As per usual though Roy has spoken too much and shouldnt be revealing that Gerrard has asked him to be quiet on the situation.

Yeah i probably am over analysing it but, to me, it just seems a tad bizarre how he drops in private conversations to the press. He just talks way, way too much for my liking and his cosying up to the press revolts me.

What's pissing me off is that people pro Roy are referring to Sunderlands victory over Chelsea as proof the league is up and down and anyonce can beat anyone, casually brushing aside the fact Chelsea had 4 key players out.

To their mind this seems to serve as some kind of excuse LFC are doing ****e.

But whilst the league is possibly closer, the top sides are still situated at the top. And to me this speaks volumes.

I wouldn't be surprised if Roy is going a bit senile. I don't remember him being such a **** up at Fulham.

That's because the press pay far less attention to clubs like Fulham. You're only noticed if you beat one of the big clubs or get relegated. Otherwise, you can muddle along with no-one really watching.

If you look back over his career (and especially how he's thought of in places like Scandanavia and Switzerland), he's always had a tendency to make bizarre comments that go down really badly with the fans.
