Not really fussed about what Sven thought, in all honesty, i dont rate his judgement.

As for Mourinho, Cole had one superb season under him before he was bombed out. If Mourinho didnt rate him enough, that's his perogative but again, he had the luxury of a super expensive squad, so perhaps he was in a position where he could afford to make Cole dispensable.

As i said though, sadly, we're not in that kind of position.

If he's used properly, in a confident attacking team that seeks to win games, and is given proper backing and the belief that his manager has faith in him, he'll deliver.

    Class player.

      Our next 9 games are:

      Bolton (A)
      Chelsea (H)
      Wigan (A)
      Stoke (A)
      West Ham (H)
      Tottenham (A)
      Aston Villa (H)
      Newcastle (A)
      Fulham (H)

That's not a difficult run of games previously I'd expect us to get close to 7 wins from those games, suddenly that's unrealistic

      Roy has to go now!!
its an absolute ****ing disgrace. Chelea at home and spurs away.......all the rest should be easily beatable and actually should be saying we should!! the reality is though that under Roy there are 5 away games so thats half the games lost allready

He did the same at Blackburn and now here.

Someone should tell Roy that he should be priviligied to be our manager. Someone should tell Roy to respect the fans.

Roy can get the hell out of here as soon as possible. He is a lunatic **** that don't give a **** about us fans.
Said exactly this too. Almost word for word. Kill him. Kill him with fire.

“We need to look carefully at what we are doing and not jump in. We can’t afford to panic. We have identified areas where we need to strengthen the squad, and I don’t mean the first XI, I mean the strength below that is nowhere near where we need it to be, certainly not as strong as our famous rivals.

I asolutely agree with almost every post in this thread 100%. You're all spot on , he's a total gob****e. This thread also hugely insults the intelligence of NESV and its frontman. They are not fools and are obviously biding their time and trying to be seen to do the right thing. We'll start to improve. We've too many good players not to. And what then? He gets to keep his job because of that? Wrong. He's still getting canned 'cos he's a ****ing **** man/ager. You all know it, I know it and most importantly 17 billionaires, who have literally decades of experience in hiring and firing people at the top level of business, know it. This is all about the timing. I've got total confidence in our owners to do the right thing. Even moreso after reading JH's latest quotes.

“He was one of the best coaches I worked with but he was nowhere near being the best manager,” one former Blackburn player told Goal.com UK.

“The spirit just drained out of the team and nobody wanted to play for him anymore. We would come into work every day and be moaning about training before it had even started because we didn’t like his methods.

“Some players weren’t happy and it was obviously difficult for him – but you have to change things up when it’s going badly. He was too passive and was just hoping the results would turn by themselves.

“He wasn’t proactive enough to move away from his comfort zone of being on the training ground and organising how to defend set-pieces.

“Once two players squared up on the fight and he just stood there doing nothing – it was like he had no idea how to handle the players anymore, other than to tell them where they should be when he was pointing at a tactics board.”
That'll be Tim Sherwood I think. Think he came out with something similar recently, but for the life of me, can't think where.

I think your mixed up somewhat... it's the other way round the blame game works is it not ?...Rafa blamed for Hodgsons inability....first time i've ever seen it done this way around...interesting theory..and one that i could easily get used to using. .

I assume there's a large dose of sarcasm there.

I think some people have needed a hate figure after the previous owners were ousted and sadly Hodgson has provided the opportunity. To me it's a sad reflection of those needing to hate someone.

I would expect NESV to believe that Hodgson isn't the long term answer but they will want to bide their time to get the decision and the eventual successor right. They haven't got to where they are by rushing into hasty and wrong decisions and it's probable that they will want a credible CEO in post first.

We may have serious reservations and not like some of his reported comments but he is after all a human being doing his best to provide us supporters with a successful team.

I've never felt Hodgson was the man to take us forward but I recognise I could be wrong and believe I should support him and the team whilst he's at LFC. There are many people who know more about football than me (and probably all other posters on this site) who reckon he is capable of doing a good job.

I think he will leave in the not too distant future but I hope that when he does eventually leave it is done with dignity and respect - the Liverpool way. I also hope that posters who unlike me have the luxury of knowing they are right can try to tone down the vitriol towards him.

I'm just saying that it's a run of games we should be expecting to get alot of points from, last season we had a bad time and only got 8 points out of 24, the season before we got 16 out of 27, and the season before that 20 points out of 24. Based on those results we (on average) should get ~16 points from those 9 games (5 wins and 1 draw, or 4 wins and 4 draws).

It's not just that, given recent results of the team and the fact that we desperately need points, saying winning 7 of those games is unrealistic doesn't do much for team confidence, and doesn't do much to reassure players that we will get better.

Also to put this in perspective, after the next 9 games we'll have played 18 games and be more or less at the mid point of the season, from our first 9 games we have 9 points, he is essentially saying that having 30 points by Christmas (after 18 games) is unrealistic!! ...admittedly if he is still in charge it is unlikely we'll be even close to that, but I don't want to hear the manager come out and say it.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Even at Fulham, Mohamed Al Fayed took a very active role. He never suggested who we should buy — what he normally did was allow us to buy them and then criticise us for them! But, as I have explained to the owners, January is often a market for clubs trying to move on players they don’t want. I don’t want to be taking peoples’ leftovers.
'We’ve got those type of players ourselves. If we are going to improve we need better.

way to go Roy. IS there anybody player you dont to alienate at our club?
