If anyone had said anything even remotely like what has been said to Roy about Rafa, people would have throw a ****ing mickey fit on here. Different rules when it suits. The sheer cheek of you condescending idiot, be quiet. I'm not having that ****e, grow up.

No you don't have to keep possession and play well all the time. The point is that we haven't dominated possession for the majority of the games with ROy in charge, which implies that he sets out his teams to sit deep and counter attack.Originally posted by danperkins View PostIf a team plays ****e but they win i.e. United what counts at the end of the day? The result, and in the end the outcome is the only thing that matters.
You don't always have to play well or keep possession to win games, obviously you can't do this all of the time, that would be silly to say but when all is said and done the result is the most important thing.
As for the alleged 'abuse' aimed at Roy, I haven't seen any lately, so I don't understand what you're saying. Criticism yes, but rightly so.Are we winning?

Depends doesn't it. Chelsea had more possession than us and we hurt them more than they hurt us.Originally posted by Lecter View PostHmmmmm
Not sure that is the case
If you have more possession the less likelihood there is of you being hurt by the opposition
In general our possession under Roy has been poor because I do not believe its in his nature for his teams to want the ball
He prefers counter-attacking football sucking teams in and trying to hit them on the break hes very very much in the Houllier mould in that regards
One could argue that if you have more of the ball in the opponents third that you're actually more likely to bee hurt by the opposition (on the counter attack) than if they are dominating possession in the middle third.
Right, here we go. I've found a match report from the match we lost against Chelsea last season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/8283710.stm
Our possession is higher than theirs: 48-52. We lost 2-0. What the bloody hell does that possession stat matter? When you're 2-0 up. It's perfectly rational to sit back and play on the counter. As such, the possession stats will be skewed.
I would be very interested to know the possession stats broken into thirds for the time up until we were 2-0 up. I think you'd see that while both teams were utilising 'plan A', our possession would be fairly close to theirs.K ris90210

You stated Rafa said the same things as Hodgson so come on lets see quotes were Rafa blamed Houllier for the squad he inherited and slagged off Houllier for the league finish
Put up or sit the **** down and shut up
I find it very easy to be condescending to someone who clearly knows so little about football as you obviously do, ****ing hell you'd struggle to fill the back of a postage stamp with "your knowledge"
I've forgotten more about football then you will ever know
Pipe down or back your statements up with FACTS
Roy has said some outrageous stuff as equally outrageous as half the **** thats spouted here about him
As for your opinions about me as a person well if I valued your opinion I'd ****ing ask for itLast edited by Lecter; 08-11-10, 01:35 PM.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I think we actually were a little fortunate in the 2nd half.Originally posted by Scratch View PostLoad of bollocks...the first half we had them pinned against the ropes, and the two goals were fully deserved. The second half we decided to sit back and soak up the pressure, and their only chance was the Malouda effort that was straight at Reina, but we still had chances to get a third with Kuyt and Maxi and N'gog getting taken out when in a possible 1on1 with the keeper.
Fortunate? Rode our luck? Give over.
Under normal circumstances, if you sit back for 45 mins and invite chelsea onto you, they'd score. On another day, they would've had a fit drogba. On another day, Malouda's effort would go in and Pepe would've tipped Anelka's shot onto the underside of the bar, and into the net. Those small things went our way on the day, but it's not to be relied upon.
If you sit back for an entire 45 mins and invite a team onto you, you're asking for it. We got away with it yesterday, but we wont always.

I'm not disagreeing with you about our possession, just saying the result is what counts.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostNo you don't have to keep possession and play well all the time. And mate if you haven't seen the abuse, well i don't know what to think, i don't condone that ****e, even when Rafa was here as LFC manager and having a mare last season i'd never personally abuse the man, i think its ****ing pathetic and cringeworthy as a LFC supporter.
No excuse for it, evidence is in the threads from literally the moment he was appointed, Roy has been called every name under the sun. Not saying he will succeed, or he is the man for the job, and even though he has really frustrated me, i think he deserves some kudos and some respect, he has made mistakes and said some stupid things, for a man normally so calm i reckon the pressure really got to him.
P.S. And you mean lately as in just yesterday?

Roy has been a disaster at PR until he got told off last week. All the **** thrown at him was absolutely deserved IMO. It's not a coincidence that he's been much better lately. Are we winning?

I'm sure there was quote possibly by lecter from Benitez after the burnley game where he took the blame for the defeatOriginally posted by danperkins View PostSure neither did Rafa. When have you ever heard a manager for a big club come out and say yeah its all my fault? I'm not gonna say Roy is long term but he has got some **** storm of abuse from many on here, its ****ing embarrassing.
He has won 4 on the bounce and although not my favorite choice as LFC manager, i am more than happy to give him some credit. For the moment fair play to the man, people need to chill out on the abuse to, its cringeworthy and bit pathetic at this stage. I'm fine with criticism but seriously the some of the stuff on here is just not right, it really isn't."Ah, but Scousers are different, the Basques of the North. Utterly inexplicable, even to us"
